👋🏽 Hey everyone! This is an announcement about what we’ll be doing for LOJO Festival this year.
We’ve really enjoyed putting this event together over the last 3 years. What started as an event with 8 venues has grown to include over 50 venues in Abbotsford and some neighbours in Collingwood, Richmond and Fitzroy. It’s a meaningful event that celebrates our tight knit community here under the bridge (and beyond!) of traders, staff, patrons, artists, locals and alike. Year after year, we receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from all those who contribute to and experience the events.
However, after some careful consideration, we’ll be putting a hold on the festival this year. This decision wasn’t taken lightly and was necessary due to some key partners and venues being unable to participate because of reduced staffing and budget constraints.
We believe that taking this pause will give us the opportunity to reset and ensure the festival can return in full force when all our partners and venues are ready to participate. Although it’s bittersweet, we’re a bit relieved to be giving ourselves a break after a turbo few years.
While the festival won’t be on this year, there are still many opportunities to support the LOJO community:
- Visit our directory and plan your own culture crawl down Johnston St and beyond.
- Help spread awareness for your favourite small business online. Like, follow, share, review, etc. small business posts.
