This is our quiet achiever Freya Prince!! The smile is gold. Here’s what she has to say “I started in the market shops to understand what it would be like to work in a florist, and I quickly learnt that it was a lot more than just putting bouquets together. From the arm workouts of bucket changeovers, to prep work, polishing vases and filling buckets, I learnt how much work goes into every bouquet before it even reaches a customer.

I’m mainly based at Parade, but have the opportunity to work across the market stalls. One of the biggest learning moments for me was my first Valentine’s Day. I couldn’t believe how many bunches we made in one day from our production line and then to see them all sell out was so rewarding!

Every day in the shop reminds me how special it is to work with flowers and be a part of something that can mean so much to someone. One moment that has always stuck with me was a young boy who came into the shop and spent his pocket money on a flower for his grandma. Seeing how much it lit up her day reminded me that it’s not about the size of the bunch, but the simple act of showing someone you care.

I’m very grateful to Pete and Connie for giving me this opportunity and trusting me along the way. I’m also really grateful to all the girls in the shops who have taught me so much, joined me in a dance party on the long days and given me some really great friendships. 🩷🩷”
