Joseph Ribkoff just gave us four new dresses, and every one of them has an event already written on it.

We've had warm days one minute and cool afternoons the next, which is spring racing in Adelaide all over. You'll want something with a bit of structure that still moves with you from the lawn to the bar. The Ruffle Dress in Deep Cherry is exactly that, a clean A-line in scuba crepe with a satin ruffle spilling down one side that we can't stop touching. All you'll need is a fascinator. Its sister, the Embellished Dress in the same cherry, is the one we'd reach for after dark, with raised soutache over a sheer mock neck and a trumpet hem that swishes as you walk.

The Alina Gown by Ellie just landed and we already know where she's going.

We all know you need a little black dress. But for the nights that really count, the kind where you're walking out onto a terrace with the coast behind you and candles on the steps and you just want to feel completely right, you don't want a safe option. That's what we love about the Alina. Ellie have given you two fabrics here, a smooth stretch crepe through the body that follows you so well, and then this sculptural taffeta fold across the shoulders that gives you all the drama you need. Trellis Lane just landed with this 3D applique lace and we need you to see it up close. We're talking florals that literally sit up off the fabric, petals you can feel under your fingertips, the kind of detail that catches the light and catches every compliment.

We've got the Lizzie Puff Sleeve Midi in the softest pale blue and in navy. A tailored bodice with a sheer illusion neckline, those puff sleeves giving you just enough drama, and an A-line skirt where the 3D florals gather toward the hemline like they've been placed there one by one. The pale blue is your spring races dress. The navy takes you straight to a Saturday night wedding.

Sacha Drake gets the detail right and we want to show you why. Because with this collection, it’s all in the detail.

We’ve been going through the new collection and it’s the finishing that keeps stopping us. The scalloped edge on the Moulin Rouge lace that follows your neckline and falls to the hem in that soft hi-lo line. The way the Affair of Honour sits with its sheer lace bodice over satin, and that little diamante buckle at the waist that you only notice when you’re standing close. The Garnier, where the embroidered flowers are sitting on top of the mesh so you get this incredible depth when you move. Every piece has something you won’t catch from a scroll.

And then you get into the fabric itself. The Cloudland wrap has a gold lurex thread running through the chiffon that you only see when the light hits it. The Aurelius has raised gold detailing through the velvet that you can actually feel under your fingers. The Daria’s gold braid trim at the neckline and belt ties the whole piece together in a way that feels considered, not decorated.

The Spring collection of Sacha Drake is here we've got new styles for you to see.

We love what they've done with this collection. You've got those exclusive floral burnouts in silk rayon that move the way you want them to, wraps and one-shoulder maxis in corals and pinks with gold metallic thread through the print. There's a sapphire blue floral that we couldn't put down, an emerald botanical we keep going back to, and the richest navy and red laces for when you need something with a bit more polish. We think the colour range alone is worth coming in for.

What we keep coming back to is how flattering every piece is. The wraps sit exactly where you want them, the bias cuts skim without clinging, and you've got that jersey slip underneath so you're completely comfortable. Sacha Drake just gave us one print in two completely different moods and we can't pick a favourite.

You're looking at the Francesca and the Eleanor, both in the same exclusive Pink Floral burnout. We fell for this one straight away. You'll notice these fine aqua and silver flecks woven through the petals, and the burnout gives you this layered texture where the silk sheers through the floral. You can feel the weight of it when you hold it, it sits against you without clinging.

The Francesca is your one-shoulder maxi. We love the sculptural foldover neckline and the way those shoulder panels flow down the arm. You get real movement through the full-length skirt, and you can cinch the waist with the self-tie belt or leave it relaxed. You'll reach for this one for the spring wedding, the garden party, the kind of evening where you want to walk in and own it.
The Eleanor is your classic Sacha Drake wrap and we think it might be the easier one to live in. See Saw's newest print just landed and we couldn't stop at one piece.

Petal Drift is the one we can't stop talking about, that soft painterly floral in blush, marigold and coral, exclusive to the season and cut in pure linen so it moves easily through the warmer days ahead. We're loving it most in the Shift Dress, with its soft V-neckline and side splits that let you actually walk in it, but the Lace Trim Top and the Shirt carry the same print if you want to build the look piece by piece.

Sacha Drake's Cloudland Wrap Dress just landed in black and white and we're a little bit obsessed.

You know when you find a dress that just works for everything? We think this is it. The chiffon is light but it holds its shape, and there's a subtle gold lurex thread running through it that you catch in the light. We love that. The wrap ties at the waist so you get this fitted silhouette through the bodice, then it falls into a flowing hi-lo hem that's all movement. You're comfortable all day with the jersey slip underneath, and those bloused three-quarter sleeves keep it polished without being fussy.
