WHAT'S NEXT? PT 2.

Just a quick reminder - its been over a day and I've had only one vote for what I start listing on Ebay next. - You have until tonight to decide.

I really thought Biggles might have gotten at least a few votes but
so far the Vintage Ladybird Books are the next up. ... The list is on the previous post. Choose your poison, Ladies and Gentlemen and I'll start listing the pick by the end of the week! :)

WHAT NEXT??

I can't believe its been 3 months since the shop closed but it has.
I've been slowly starting to list things online on Ebay - I know some of you are following and I very much appreciate you!

I've been listing music biographies, as that was what I happened to have on hand but I've done almost all of those and I need to know what to start on next.
A list of possibilities follows and whatever is the most popular will be the next ones I will drag out to list. (Hopefully knowing people are waiting will get me to list more frequently, too! :( )

1) A largish collection of History Non-Fiction, including a small collection of semi-rare and mildly valuable Antarctic / Polar Exploration volumes from the very early 20th Century. These will mostly be going to Auction rather than Buy It Now as I'm not entirely sure of myself here. (I was always on the modern side of bookselling. Antiquarian is a 'whole' different animal! Lol.)
Also a slightly larger collection of vintage Mountaineering / Exploration books from the early - mid 20th Century.

2) A reasonably large collection (About a hundred or so) of Biggles books by W.E. Johns. Ranging from First Editions to vintage paperbacks to the glossy Dean hardcovers from the 1980's and some more modern reprints as well.

3) A large collection of collectible, vintage Ladybird children's books from the 1960's / 1970's. Mostly the regular printed covers but a reasonable collection of the early dust-jacketed editions and a sprinkling of later, glossy editions. Plus a few tatty ones going cheap as 'reading copies' or collection fill-ins.

4) A (Very) large collection of assorted Military Non-Fiction. Ranging from early 20th Century (Boer War and WWI) through WWII, Vietnam and up to Afghanistan. Along with assorted side topics ranging from Aeroplanes, Tanks and Battleships to Military Biographies & Spies / Espionage stories.
There are several less common volumes here from authors such as Rudyard Kipling and Henry Lawson.
(If you have an era / subject you would like to see / for me to start with, please let me know, There are literally hundreds of books here.)

5) A small collection of assorted craft books, going cheap.

6) A large collection of Phantom Comics. Ranging from 500's to 1800's. With a few extras including price guides and and a large collection og Annuals, some still factory-sealed. (Some of these are already listed.)

7) A small collection of vintage tabletop role-playing game (RPG) manuals from the 1970's. (Again, some of these are already listed but by no means, all of them.)

So... Where do I start? I'll give it 48 hours and make a decision from there. Wednesday, I'll get into the storage unit and start dragging out the most popular topics. :)

Fair(ly good) Update - DVDs.

I promised to update things tonight, well... I was running late - as usual - today, so not too many photos yet, they'll come in the morning when I finish unpacking and setting up.

There's a HUGE stack of manga comics starting at $4 ea as well as Marvel, DC, The Phantom, Dr Who, Graphic novels, Merchandise and much more.

One thing I realised as I was going through everything was just how many DVDs I have!! - Far TOO many!
Seriously, I have an entire 8 foor table (Over 2m) that is nothing but DVDs. Hundreds of them. So...

ALL SINGLE DVDS ARE 50 CENTS EACH!!

Box sets are a little more but if its not priced, its 50c!
Feel free to make an offer if you're buying a few. I can only say no - but I probably won't.
Come and get a big digital bargain. I do NOT want to bring them back again!!

Nothing 'comic' about this - or is there? :)

Seriously, for those who have been paying attention, tomorrow is the next Adelaide Comic and Toy Fair.
Despite not having a Brick & Mortar shop any more, we will be there with all the usual stock - and more!

This is going to be kind of fun - I used to have a system for packing loading and setting up. Now... Well, now, everything is in storage and I'm going to have to work it out again.
(So, if you hear lots of swearing coming from the Eastern Suburbs, you'll know what's going on! Lol)

Seriously, I'll be there and I hope you will, too. I'll be easy to find - Just look for the TARDIS! Lol. (See below.)
I'll have all the usual comics, Dr Who, Graphic Novels, Dr Who, Star Wars, Dr Who... Is anybody seeing a theme here? :P
I've been on a bit of a buying spree - really shouldn't have but you guys are important to me. So a quantity of Dr who stuff for sale.

I'll post some more photos this afternoon, once I've got things set up, so keep watching this space!!

Ok, the weather has cleared enough for me to take some photos - Yesterday was practically one long thunderstorm! - so I've managed to start listing books on Ebay again.
I've had to make a couple of changes to my original listing though... What's wrong with this title? 😛

Truly the 'End of an Era' now.
I'm going to have to get used to not heading in to work and get used to doing a LOT more online. :/ (I'm too old for this new-fangled internet stuff! Lol)
Seriously, I managed to retain a LOT of the stock and anyone who knows me knows I am an absolute magpie, so the shop will continue online!!
We will be doing the Adelaide Comic and Toy Fair in a couple of weeks and I hope to see a lot of you there.

Hi All.
Something that somebody suggested might be useful.
I'm meeting with the property manager tomorrow to see if there's any posiblity of staying but...

To be honest, I'm not in my 20's anymore and I'm not as healthy as I might wish. So if I can't talk him around, would anyone be interested - or know someone who might be interested - in buying the business and relocating it? Unfortunately, I'm just not up to it.

All stock, fittings (Bookshelves etc) and internet accounts are included.
The bookshop has been around since the late 1960's and has a strong customer base.
A younger person - School leaver? - would be ideal. You will need some tech savvy - Ebay, Facebook, etc - and some lifting is required as part of the job.

If anyone is, or even might be interested, please, please contact me. We have an excellent stock and I'm happy to negotiate for a very good price!!

Ok. I've been asked elsewhere what's happening regards the upcoming Adelaide Comic and Toy Fair.

We are still going!!

If the worst does happen, I am taking the comic stock with me and We Will Be There!!
(Comics and probably lots of cheap DVDs as well. Not sure on what I'm taking of those, yet.)
But I will salvage what I can of the business and that includes the Fairs and all the wonderful people who come and see us there! ❤️

Once again the landlord has decided that they don't want us here.

The property is being sold and while the salon that is currently moving in next door gets to stay, they want an empty space where the bookshop currently is.
We have 30 days to get out.
