Be The Light has always been about more than creating a beautiful gift.

It was born from my own experience of learning just how powerful the right words can be when you need them most.

Sometimes it’s “I’m proud of you.”
Sometimes it’s “You’ve got this.”
Sometimes it’s simply “I’m here.”

Words have a way of staying with us — and that’s what I want every Be The Light bulb to represent.

A little reminder sitting in someone’s home that they are loved, appreciated, valued and never alone. 🌱

One of the biggest misconceptions about running a collective retail business is that success comes from filling every available space.

In reality, we’ve found the opposite.

Over the years, we’ve learnt that carefully curating the right mix of South Australian makers is one of the most important things we can do. It protects existing businesses, gives new makers a better chance to thrive and creates a better shopping experience for customers.

Sometimes that means saying no to a fantastic application because the timing or product mix isn’t quite right.

It’s never personal. It’s about building a stronger collective for everyone.

If you’re a South Australian maker looking for a retail opportunity in Adelaide, don’t let that discourage you. Every application is considered on its own merits, and the right opportunity often comes along when you least expect it.
