Alison and Mark Rogers opened Sewing Solutions in July 1993 after spending a month converting a discount shoe shop into the comfortable, open and warm feeling retail store of today. With a wealth of knowledge and expertise in Janome products, derived from her position as Janome’s South Australian lesson teacher and her general sewing skills, Alison knows how to impart the information required to g

et the most out of your sewing products. Mark, on the other hand , worked in electronics for more than 20 years before entering the sewing industry. As electronic equipment goes hand in hand with sewing now, Mark’sexperience in this field is invaluable. He has also completed an industrial sewing machine mechanics course and is also trained and qualified by Janome.

precisely 104 years ago, Janome was born.

Sewing has changed a lot over the century, and so have we. From the early days of hand crank sewing machine (which we still produce by the way!) to now state-of-the-art computerised models with AI powered tools and patented technologies, Janome has never stopped innovating. In fact we’re just getting started. Our journey wouldn’t have been possible without the heart and soul of our sewing community – Janome fans and dealers. Can you cut out material and/or sew or stuff? If YES, we need you to help make bags for patients after a mastectomy to carry their drain, tote bags for palliative care and cushions for patients who have had breast cancer surgery. Just turn up at the centre on the day to help. More hands - makes light work :-)
