ABOUT SCOTT'S PIECE > Scott Kabuki, aka KAB101, approaches mark making as a rhythmic and intuitive act, allowing gesture to accumulate through repetition, movement and flow. This work takes its point of departure from a wall in Adelaide, near Rundle Mall, reinterpreting an encountered urban surface through a language of abstraction. The recurring forms subtly evoke the visual vocabulary of the David Jones pattern, bringing together street culture, commercial iconography and contemporary mark making. The resulting composition balances spontaneity with structure, transforming a specific place into an open visual rhythm.
