Vintage fashion, bespoke artwork, and a whole lot of heart – that’s what you’ll find at Goodwill South Australia + You See Art, a one-of-a-kind fusion of op-shop and art gallery! 💚

We’re kicking things off with a community celebration that brings together cake, creativity, and thoughtfully curated vintage treasures. And you’re invited! 💌

Embrace the retro vibes by donning your most vibrant vintage – with a prize on offer for the most stylish look. 💃

Alongside upcycled clothing and unique vintage finds, the store also showcases original artwork by You See Art artists – all available for purchase.

Robyn Sutherland, our Executive Director of Services, says proceeds support Lifeline Adelaide, helping to fund essential crisis support services:

💭 “This initiative is about more than fashion and art – it’s about hope, connection, and making a real difference,“ she says.

“Every purchase supports people in crisis, every upcycled item helps reduce waste, and every artwork tells a story of creativity and resilience.”

The launch is open to everyone but if you can’t join the party, the store is open Tuesday to Thursday, 10am – 4pm. We hope to see you there! 🌻

This week, Goodwill South Australia + YouSee Art officially opened its doors at 28 Pitt St, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start! Johanna & Kamila happened to be passing by, stepped inside, and became our very first customers, purchasing a stunning vintage fur coat.

This unique collaboration between Goodwill and YouSee Art is more than just secondhand - it’s an “op-shop, art-shop” hybrid, offering vintage fashion, upcycled pieces, books, knick-knacks, and local artwork. The space itself has been lovingly transformed by our Artist in Residence, Claire Wildish, Goodwill Manager Stephanie, resident painter Mark, and the incredible New Roads clients. Special mention to the U City retirees and community stitchers who handcrafted the store’s custom curtains - proof that creativity and community go hand in hand!

The store will also provide services from the You See Art sewing circle, offering a service that ranges from hemming pants to reinventing Goodwill finds into custom pieces.

Come and check out the new store. We are here at📍28 Pitt St and we’re open Tues–Thurs, 10am–4pm, and we’re already buzzing with customers. Our grand opening is coming later this month, where we’ll celebrate the many hands that made this vision a reality.

A collaboration between Uniting Communities’ artist-in-residence Claire Wildish and fast-emerging First Nations artist Raquel Larkins, this project celebrates the intersection of art, fashion, and sustainability. 🌈🧵

What makes TEXTILE even more special? It’s a true community effort!

Participants from UC’s New ROADS and Kurlana Tampawardli programs stitched, painted and created alongside U City residents to sew many of these unique pieces in this vibrant one-of-a-kind collection.

With mixed emotions, we’re announcing that our U City Goodwill store will close its doors as of Friday 19 January, with our final day of trading on Thursday 18 January.

A special shoutout to our amazing Store Manager, Jackie, who will continue spreading her magic at our Dernancourt Goodwill store! We cannot thank Jackie and our volunteers enough for always keeping the store looking fresh and fabulous. Thanks also to YOU – our loyal customers and generous donors for supporting us throughout the years. 🤗
