After 42 years involved in the Fishing Tackle industry I am retiring and The RodWorks online store is up for sale.
The online store has been supplying all your rod building supplies since 2005.
Thank you to everyone I have had the pleasure to deal with - our retail customers, wholesale accounts, tackle stores and all our suppliers that have been on this journey as well.

Hope your all doing well we are excited to let you know we have had some of our Gen5 Epoxy shipment arrive we have more in transit and will filter through over the next week and other kit sizes be added.
I am sure there is no need to tell you how good the Gen4 has been this is the new Gen5 another step up in quality and ease of use I have a sample here I will be using some very soon and give my thoughts.

I received a special request from the management of Kennards Hire in Adelaide to build a special rod for the outgoing CEO Bill Whitehouse who is an avid fisherman. He likes using quality gear with the deal breaker being it must be Aussie and hand made.

Nothing real flashy thread work wise was requested for the build, something simple but striking was worked out with colours having to be royal blue and white.

The build was

175mm Front Shaped Black Duralon grip
Set Alps VX PTC-ZB guides inc matching tip

Hope you are keeping your wraps tight and your finish water clear.
I have been working on an old Fenwick 36kg Chair Rod rebuild and what a marathon it’s been, replicating as close as possible to its original build some 50 years ago. It will be retired and hung up in the gentleman’s bar now.
It has an Endless Diamond which I was very rusty on, I don’t think I have done one of these for 20 years but got there in the end. Guides are Aftco Big Foot with matching tip.
Here is a sequence of photos of its progress for those unfamiliar with the Endless Diamond construction. The pattern is not done the conventional method with finishing off with base wraps each end to hold the pattern in place, it’s sort off stitched together with a needle as you can see in the photos, hence its name “Endless”.
I hope it is of interest to some of you.

Hi everybody,
On the Goldcoast at present at the AFTA trade show catching up with suppliers and many old friends I have worked with over the years.
As expected this year the Fuji/Frogleys exhibit was outstanding, plenty to mull over. Checked out all the new products and some of the new Samurai Premium blanks - Swimbait and travel blanks, we have them available on the website.
I also checked out the rods submitted for the Rodbuilding competition and some very talented builders, there’s one builders work which was my pick, very impressive

Hope everything is good and your wraps are tight and your finish is glass just a build finish for a beach fisherman as an all rounder who chases mainly Salmon,Jewies,Mullet etc built on a Kilwell FSU110 blank two piece glass to glass 2 piece ferrule I had to make built to suit Threadline 7" Pine sandspike, 2 x 7" Rope grips with finger stops and turks heads knots, CRB Deluxe reel seat, Set of Alps VXPTC-Z guides inc matching tip DMPTC-Z deluxe build gone with the Aussie green and gold theme I had forgotten how nice this Gudebrod metallic green is a lovely shade of green.
