This is my current project. It's an oldy but a goodie. Judging by the Serial number and model number on the compressor, it's a 1937 model.
This fridge has a wooden frame, sheet metal skin (with characteristic "Pittsburgh Folds") and some lovely fibreglass insulation throughout.
I'm not going to completely dismantle this one due to time restrictions. I have pulled the condensing unit out of the bottom to clean and paint though.
So far I have sanded her back to metal, bogged up some big dents (the skin is nowhere near as solid as the 50's Kelvinators etc) rust treated and primed it.
I have also sprayed in silver and black, but alas the paint was not good enough to clear coat, so I have bought some more paint and I will give it a full recoat of both colours before Laying down some 2pac clear on top.
I will add more photos as I get closer to the finish line.

Gidday Everyone, welcome to a page dedicated to the love and restoration of old 'Round Shoulder" refrigerators. These 60+ year old Fridges are amazing and seem to run forever. I created this page in the hope of starting a community of people with the passion and or knowledge to help others with information, to find parts and to share photos and assist with questions related to these stalwarts of refrigeration.
