Thank you to everyone who has followed me on this journey and those who contributed along the way. Due to other commitments in my life and new opportunities, along with my lack of activity on this for a while now. I have made the decision to close up shop and move on to new exciting opportunities.

With that being said, I will be closing down the website, page and Instagram over the next few weeks. I am hoping to leave the content available where I can because there is some interesting stuff in there and it is great to look back on!

I will 100% be continuing to create insect inspired content and art, I will just being doing it on a new platform with my personal content.

Thank you so much again to all who supported me through this journey and I hope you all find your passions. Be kind when you can, and love the little things πŸ›πŸ¦‹πŸͺ²πŸŒπŸ•·

Well, I have been busy.

Here is a little snap shot of what I have been getting up to... or at least a tiny part of it.

Very excited to be starting in a new position πŸ™ŒπŸ» with more to come on that opportunity.

On top of working more, horse riding, spending time with my family, making amazing new friends, and having little nature adventures. I have been getting set up to get a new species in the Darwin's Stick Insect that will be coming soon, and I have been preparing a bunch of new art pieces which have been in the works for a while.

Thank you all for sticking around to follow the jouney here πŸ˜€

These moths are so fluffy and as you can see... my amazement at finding it right at our door was extreme! πŸ₯°

They have the most precious faces and are just stunning to look at. I just can't help but marvel at moths, especially with them only existing as final stage of a life cycle. Nature is so cruel, but so beautiful.

SAVE THE NATIVE BEES!!!!

Did you know approx. 90% of bee species don't actually make honey?!

The european species that does produce honey is great for creating your favourite spread (if you like honey 🍯), however, they are not the most successful pollinators. For this, we need our native bees like the one pictured!

Get on board and support your native bee species!!!
Plant butterfly and bee gardens, grow flowers around your produce to promote pollination, leave out a little bowl of water (fill with rocks so they don't drown) for them, and avoid using harsh pesticides.

Together, we can BEE amazing!

First squash from the garden in a long time, climate change may not be that noticeable, but it is obvious to most trying to grow produce in my area that the increased changing weather conditions, and fluxuation in temperature have been leading to less productive gardens, increased watering requirements and larger costs of living (whether that be farmers not being able to produce enough to meet demand, increasing costs in store... or simply having to buy more food rather than growing it in a home garden). πŸ˜”

I have been trying to adapt to the changes, and this little squash is just a small testiment to my improvement. May not be a lot, but I think it is a necessary skill to grow your own food... especially with the way world is going. I hope to grow enough to be able to pass some on to others, but for now this little squash will do! πŸ₯°

One of my favourite types of spider, this beauitful Spectacular Crab Spider (Thomisus spectabilis, aka. Flower spider) has taken refuge in one of my Holly-Hock flowers πŸ₯°

I make an effort to say hi every day and check on them, they are a docile spider that camaflague in the face of danger. Usually prefering to house themselves among white flowers, they are territorial, however not harmful to humans. Found throughout the continent, this species is also native to Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

There is so much more I could share about these impressive and cute creatures, but I will leave that for later posts 🀭

Been spending some time figuring out what I want to in 2024 and honestly still have no idea hahaha

But... I have been trying my hand at getting a larger range of photos, highlighting different elements of our world's fauna. Such as the highland cow pictured above.

My partner has also gotten a camera and we are working together to capture some rare, interesting and crisp animal encounters from our public reserve and nature walks 😊

Stay tuned for more :)

TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️ SPIDER

Just another day in Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Huntsman season is in full swing and this beautful creature was found only when I turned the letter over... thank gosh I didn't squish them and they didn't startle me too much haha πŸ˜†

Back in the letter box they went to protect future letters and them from an incoming Bower Bird.

(Assuming female from size and abdomen size? Any experts on this able to tell from the photos??)
