Uptown Music is situated at 1 St Emilie Way Albany at the top of York Street and opposite Photorama. Colin France, Mick Crannage and Juni Moignard invite you to come in and check out the extensive range of musical instruments and accessories. Colin France has over twenty years experience in the retail music trade. He is a well known identity in the music scene in Albany, having been both player and conductor of the City of Albany Band for many years, and drummer for a well known local dance band a number of years ago. He has recently resumed the role of Bandmaster of the City of Albany Band. Mick Crannage has been a member of the Uptown Music team for over 15 years. He is a well known local musician, having played guitar with a number of bands in years past. He has also produced recordings of many local musicians and is well placed to advise anyone looking to undertake their own recording project. Juni has been working at Uptown for just over a year, a smiley, all-round staff person . She is a musician performing solo and in her trio band, happy to help advertise any local muso gigs and events in store and online

We had a wonderful time braving the cold for the Christmas edition of Thursdays on York last night! Thank you everyone who came along and to Albany Party Co for hosting another of these great community events.

Next stop, Hawthorn House this Saturday for their Christmas Fair 🎵🎺🎶🥁 We'll be playing at 12:30pm in the main building, hope to see you there!

It’s going to be tree-mendous!

Get ready for a burst of festive cheer as the City of Albany flips the switch on its Christmas lights, unveiling three joyful installations in the CBD from Thursday, 20 November through the holiday season.

This year’s displays pack a yule-tide punch with three high-impact installations. In Alison Hartman Gardens, you’ll find a 3m illuminated koala in a Santa hat, perfect for a koala-ty Christmas photo moment. Nearby, a 3m glowing kangaroo will be bouncing spirits sky-high, while Town Square will sparkle under the glow of a 7m tall Christmas tree wrapped in a glowing red ribbon (fir real!).

The lights will officially switch on at 6pm, adding to the magic of Thursdays on York, a City-supported CBD Activation Project, led by the ACCI, featuring live entertainment, carollers, market stalls, food vans, inflatables and family fun.

While we’ve trimmed back from a full trail this year due to increasing costs, the City has focused on delivering a smaller number of high-impact displays within the approved budget. The result is a concentrated burst of Christmas joy in the heart of Albany.

So mark your calendars, gather your elves, and come and light up the night with us.
