Ever wondered what makes Hahnemühle Pastel Velour different? 🎨

Its soft, finely textured surface is designed to grip pastel pigment, allowing artists to gradually build colour, depth and detail through multiple layers.

At 260gsm, it provides a substantial surface suitable for soft pastel and oil pastel, with pads available in a selection of 10 colours.

Velour also creates a very different working experience from traditional pastel paper. Artist Simone Hofmann, writing for Hahnemühle, describes building numerous layers on the surface and using pastel brushes or Colour Shapers to develop gradients, while still being able to add fine details and highlights later in the painting.
