Feels so strange to not have ‘The Bag Lady’ in town at the Alexandra Easter Fair this Autumn (pic of me/ my partner in crime at a past Fair) ☺️ A tricky start to the year for Wintu too …

However, still loads of her gorgeous bags & other handcrafted, vintage & arty bits at Rustic Simplicity in Perkins Street, 250m on from the Alexandra Art Show in the Town Hall. 👏

I’ve made it in store again today, so hope to see you soon - we’re only a short stroll from the Easter Fair & Art Show - past the gardens in The Old Garage. Happy Easter everyone 🐣

And all of a sudden it’s April!?! And I made it into the store today - yay! Apologies for the radio silence; it’s been quite the start to 2026!

Extreme heat, fires, and all that entailed - I’ve struggled feeling the feels of others’ pain 😥

Thankfully not flame affected but had a bit of water damage with the heavy rains, although nothing on my flood event of last year. Phew!

Another new doctor, new medication & new side effects - not having much luck with any/ all of that 🤷‍♀️ But as we all do, we will keep on keeping on, doing the best we can with the resources we have available to us at the time.

It’s nearly a week since the now 135,000+ ha bushfire with a perimeter of more than 350 km started at Longwood, some 70km away from Alexandra. And what a week it’s been!?! My heart aches for the loss of people’s property, all the critters, and devastation of Country 💔

I’m ever so grateful to the brave beings whose heroic efforts helped to save a vast majority of our little town, and continue to fight the fires, which are not yet contained. Here’s hoping the weather co-operates this weekend and does not make the situation any worse, and we can move into the recovery phase & begin to heal.

To aid in this process, if you feel so inclined & want to contribute, “Foundation Murrindindi is a well-known and well-loved organisation in [this], the Murrindindi Shire. They have started a bushfire fund [Murrindindi Disaster Fund], with 100 per cent of donations going to fire-impacted people in Murrindindi Shire [within which Alexandra sits]. Details of the fund are in the image below.” ~ Alexandra Newspapers

Gosh, what a day! Hoping you’re safe & well - not all of you will be & my heart goes out to you 🙏 Some devastating losses in & around Alex 😔 despite a sterling effort by all those involved…

A quick shop update - probably goes without saying, but I’m going to say it anyway. I won’t be in store Sat 10 Jan after all. Take good care & I look forward to seeing you when all of this has settled & we’re back to some semblance of normality!?!
