With midwinter comes not only this wintery weather 🥶 but NAIDOC Week. This year’s theme “50 Years of Deadly” marks half a century of celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the achievements of these First Nation’s Peoples. 2026 marks a decade of Rustic Simplicity supporting local Taugurung artists, with a few featured here.

A shout out to all of those who help to put on the Murrindindi Beanie & Fibre Festival in Alex this weekend. Rustic Simplicity again teamed up with Wintu (aka ‘The Bag Lady’) yesterday with a stall at the outdoor market & it was SO good being a part of the festivities 🥳🥰 The Festival continues today; however, some prior commitments means we won’t be there, but it sure is worth visiting! Open until 4pm today👏

Well, it’s been a little while since we’ve been together but we’re both feeling a little better & we’re looking forward to hooking up on the weekend for the Murrindindi Beanie & Fibre Festival. Rustic Simplicity & Wintu (aka ‘The Bag Lady’) together again at the Festival’s outdoor market in Perkins St THIS Saturday! See you there!!

Feels so strange to not have ‘The Bag Lady’ in town at the Alexandra Easter Fair this Autumn (pic of me/ my partner in crime at a past Fair) ☺️ A tricky start to the year for Wintu too …

However, still loads of her gorgeous bags & other handcrafted, vintage & arty bits at Rustic Simplicity in Perkins Street, 250m on from the Alexandra Art Show in the Town Hall. 👏

I’ve made it in store again today, so hope to see you soon - we’re only a short stroll from the Easter Fair & Art Show - past the gardens in The Old Garage. Happy Easter everyone 🐣

And all of a sudden it’s April!?! And I made it into the store today - yay! Apologies for the radio silence; it’s been quite the start to 2026!

Extreme heat, fires, and all that entailed - I’ve struggled feeling the feels of others’ pain 😥

Thankfully not flame affected but had a bit of water damage with the heavy rains, although nothing on my flood event of last year. Phew!

Another new doctor, new medication & new side effects - not having much luck with any/ all of that 🤷‍♀️ But as we all do, we will keep on keeping on, doing the best we can with the resources we have available to us at the time.
