VALE - the wonderful, witty and very talented Sam Neill who passed away today.
Sam brought to life the pages of My Brilliant Career (by Miles Franklin) in 1979 playing the kind-hearted Harry Beecham to Judy Davis’ fiercely independent Sybilla Melvyn.
This movie was Sam’s first acting role in Australia and his presence and essence on screen along with Judy Davis turned Stella ‘Miles’ Franklins story into one of Australia’s most loved books and the movie, a celebrated masterpiece of Australian cinema.
