Profits from Op Shop go towards assisted desexing and microchipping of animals to those that hold an

Armadale Community Animal Rescue Group Inc commenced in Feb 2012 by opening a Rescue Shelter at 251 Railway Ave Kelmscott to provide rescue and rehoming opportunities for abandoned and relinquished animals. In June 2012 the Op Shop at unit 2/5 Gillam Drive Kelmscott was developed to help support the Rescue Shelter financially. In March 2017 ACARG opened the Animal Welfare Op Shop in ……Street Rockingham to fund the program of a free desexing and microchipping service to the Rockingham, Kwinana, Baldivis and Mandurah areas. This provides the opportunity for pensioner and disability cardholders to bring their animals in line with the new cat and dog laws. ACARG are now setting up a new Op Shop in Armadale that will finance the program of free desexing and microchipping for pensioners and disability cardholders in the Armadale and surrounding areas. These Op Shops are vital in providing the financial support to aid in the eventual aim of ACARG that being to that all animals are brought into line with the new state laws of desexing and microchipping for all cats and microchipping for all dogs.

Do you know these boys? The older looks about 14 and the youngest 8. They broke in 6 weeks ago then again last Thursday and now last night! We are here to help age and disability card holders with their animals in their area, not mine. At the rate we are going paying for the damage these two little criminals are doing we will be out of business soon. I can forgive once but three times is pushing it. Sorry for the rant but I'm over it. Myself and others volunteer our time and energy hoping to make a difference then two little criminals come along and undo all our hard work in 5 minutes. Saying that we will be open tomorrow as usual but unfortunately the shop is going to look rather sad as we will be boarded up for a couple of weeks till we can install metal barriers over the windows. Still hoping to see you there!

To the two teenage boys that did this to our shop early Saturday morning I ask you, why? For the sake of a couple of bikes, helmet and a bag full of cool drinks, why? If you came in and said you really needed bikes to ride to school I would have given them to you, along with a winter jacket to the one of you in a short sleeve Tshirt (it was very wet and cold at the time). Instead you both had to throw rocks through the window costing YOUR local animal rescue $2,000 to fix. We are all volunteers, not one person gets any money out of the shops. Everything we make after the usual rent etc. goes to rescuing and helping our older and disabled community members with their animals. So very disappointed.
