Granny Fi's Toy Cupboard is a family run business. The whole family is involved from the kids to the grandparents. Our toys are one-of-a-kind creations. Handmade by Granny Fi, The Dragon Lady and Mr Mandrake Man, each one has its own personality. We love what we do and spend hours each day creating toys and mess (they go hand-in-hand). We do not test on animals! All of our toys have to pass rigorous testing by the ones who know most about these things - the grandchildren!

Goodbye Sydney and hello Dramadale! 😂 We've come home to an uproar in the town about redevelopment, cars in the Mall and a lack of community consultation - including forgetting to ask the Bowling Club if they mind being torn down for something else!
I must admit that I've had a lovely day in front of the heater reading all the comments!
We'll be open again on Thursday. I have to devote tomorrow to making Hephalumps and Snufflelumps!

Holy moly Winterfest! What a weekend! It was so crazy this is the first time I've had a chance to do a post. Please note the first photo with almost nothing left!
Friday morning we were ready. We were setting up early with great plans to be go home (hotel) and sew all afternoon... but then a wind gusts caught our tent and snapped bits of it in half! So we ran around for hours trying to buy a replacement, try to set up again etc.
However, Saturday morning dawned and it was beautiful! And then the gates opened and it went mad! And stayed that way until about half an hour ago when we fell back into our hotel room.
Thank you Winterfest - we look forward to next year!

Okay guys, who wants to visit us in France? 😂
Because we're heading off to Winterfest this weekend, I figured it was a good time to look for castles for sale (procrastinating - most definitely!).
This one is actually affordable AND livable. So, if we sell our house, we can pay off our mortgage and buy this outright. Also, electricity costs less there! Or we can use candles. I'm not too fussed.

Hello lovely people! I've come to the conclusion (because I keep falling asleep at the sewing machine) that we won't be open today. I try very hard to be open every day that we're in town, but I'm beginning to burn out.
The smart meter took almost 3 hours to install yesterday and he didn't leave until nearly 6pm. The window display needs to be put back together, then the shop cleaned up and sawdust vacuumed. And... I just can't hold sensible (possibly not even insensible) conversations on top of that AND sew for the next event as well.
So, whilst you may see me in the shop today, unless it's urgent, just give me a smile and a wave and come back tomorrow!
And no, this isn't the worst photo of me asleep. The other one was sooooo bad that I couldn't put it up even for the laughs! 😂

Um, has everyone read the letters their electricity providers have been sending out? Our daily supply charge was already a joke, but over FOUR DOLLARS A DAY is beyond that! 😡
Yes, while I wait for one lot of electricity people to show up, I'm looking for a new one!
For the record, this isn't for the shop, it's for another workshop/studio that we rent.

We're home! For a week! 😂 Here's a dragon that was hatched in the car yesterday to soften the blow that we WON'T be open tomorrow.
We've just found out that they're changing the shop over to a smart meter tomorrow and will be turning the electricity off. However, they're coming sometime between 8-5, which means I have no idea when the electricity will be off or on or people in the window.

Thank you Sydney! What a weekend! In all honesty, when we arrived we thought we wouldn't do this event again BUT the fact that pretty much all we have left in the car is the furniture, has made us think again!
Can you see the difference between the Saturday morning photo and yesterday afternoon? 😮
And yes, we got to keep our game of how many Armidale people we saw!

Sydney Supanova! Oh my, I'd forgotten how crazy Sydney was!
So these are photos from both days so far - and a bit of a fun because most of these are people who know us from Armidale! 😂 It's turned into a bit of a *thing* to take photos of everyone from home.
So, we're almost out of dragons - actually, we're almost out of everything and we still have a full day to go!

When you FINALLY make it to Sydney, but can't access your room... 😡😡😡 Accommodation is actually why we haven't done Sydney Supanova in so many years.
P.s. we're standing on a street in Homebush and have been kn hold for over half an hour. At least we stopped for dinner and availed ourselves to the facilities there! 😂
