The Avoca Double Outrigger. I asked AI to mock up a double outrigger version of our Avoca Outrigger design and this is what it came up with! Looks pretty epic! Adding a second outrigger is easy by building two outriggers and doubling the length of the cross arms. I might have to update my own Avoca Outrigger to this configuration. It is incredibly tempting, midway through a build, to think: "Maybe I should add an extra layer of fiberglass here," or "I’ll add some extra bracing inside just to be safe."

I’ve finally got around to building my own 12.5ft v-bottom high volume sup. When I designed this board I had a feeling it was going took beautiful with its traditional rounded bow and relatively straight lines to the transom. Now that I’m seeing it in the flesh I have to say I’m stoked with how it looks!

It’s only taken around 4 hrs work to get to this point, starting off with one of my pre cut frame kits and then also cutting the hull panels on the CNC definitely helps.

I’m using 2.5mm wide cable ties for the first time and so far so good. I also made some custom fit cradles which screwed to my saw horses, they are an inverse of frame 3 and 9 and help to align the panels nicely.

Next step is filleting the corners with thickened epoxy.

New wooden paddle board design! Our 12.5ft v-bottom high volume touring SUP design is now available!

I designed this v-bottom high volume touring SUP for paddlers more concerned about total payload capability than speed or surfing.

Also, we're now shipping plans at a fixed price of $15 to anywhere in the world!

With it's beefed up frames and deck stringers this SUP will weigh slightly more than my other designs but can handle bigger bodied paddlers or paddlers looking take a full load of gear with them.

The plans call for 4mm frames and hull panels to handle the expected load while still trying to keep the board as light and usable as possible.

With a very generous width of 33.5 inches (852mm) this SUP will be an extremely stable platform for fishing, leisurely touring and camping.

I would love to see one of these anchored in close to a lakeshore rigged with a hiking tent and a little stove!
