The kicker fish that helped me move from 114th to 58th from Saturday to Sunday.

Really wasn’t my weekend between damaging my prop Friday night on a submerged tree.
needing to replace it Saturday morning, loosing 5 competition hours of fishing time.

A massive Shout-out to Brayden from East Coast Suzuki Marine in Bairnsdale for firstly answering my Facebook message at 7:40 that night, within two minuets. Then taking time out of his weekend competing in the comp himself, to open up the workshop to sell me a new prop.

Without his service, I wouldn’t have made it back out on the water this weekend.

Friday I decided to fish on the Nicholson River as the brag mat pick-up was at the Nicho hotel.

I never spend much time past Hollands landing as I’m spoilt with good fish closer to home.

But first my yearly tradition of a coffee ☕️ and pie 🥧 from the The Nicho General Store

I caught 17 bream over the daylight hours ranging from 29cm fork to 37 fork.

Once the sun went down and the comp started, not a single bite, besides the bite my prop took out of that tree. 🌴

Off home grumpy and cold I went.

My first five spots Saturday didn’t produce any active fish, and the number of fish were just not there.

I ended up catching my first fish at 4:10pm after two perch and a carp.

Finishing with three bream for the day before the sun went down. dropping two fish at the boat.

Sunday was extremely foggy and bloody freezing🥶

I tried to get fishing early but due to fog visibility and sheer coldness had me just floating around for an hour waiting for the sun to rise to improve visibility. I was really not keen on breaking a second prop for the weekend.

I caught a small bream 29cm fork fairly early and wasn’t till my last 5 Minuets of fishing that I landed this 40 forker and filling my bag of five bream.

Once again I had a couple of opportunities to upgrade that didn’t fall my way. And a couple more wrong species.

But that’s fishing sometimes.

Well done to all the competitors who braved the cold weather and spent money in the community.

Coast Guard Paynesville Slipping trailer heading off on Buchan Towing super tilt trailer to N & T CARTAGE AND SANDBLASTING for a sand blast and repaint, fabrication and trailer repairs will be completed by our team. Then returned to Paynesville in time for the next lot of services to be completed on CG22
