Artist of the Month – August
Rod Ellis
Creative Artisans Gallery is delighted to present Rod Ellis as our Artist of the Month for August.
With a background spanning more than 40 years in signwriting and graphic design, Rod has built a career founded on colour, composition and creativity. After working in Melbourne and Western Australia, he settled in Ballina in the 1980s, where his artistic journey has continued to evolve.
Rod describes himself as an artist without limits. Rather than following one style or subject, he paints what inspires him, working mainly in acrylics while also embracing the challenge of oils. His willingness to step outside his comfort zone has allowed him to develop a diverse and expressive body of work that is constantly changing.
"I have no favourite subject or style," Rod says. "I just paint what I like." That freedom is reflected in an exhibition that offers visitors a variety of subjects, techniques and colours, ensuring there is something to capture every imagination.
