❤️🖤Sarah loves historian and Kinky History creator Dr Esme Louise James and is kicking back to enjoy her debut novel, Becoming Venus.

Social media sensation Dr James has captivated audiences with her fascinating, funny and kinky take on s*x, history and culture.

Becoming Venus is loosely inspired by the classic novel F***y Hill, and transports readers to the modern streets of Melbourne for a deliciously provocative tale of desire. Think Fifty Shades for feminists. This is not for the faint hearted. 🌶❤️‍🔥

📚🧡💜 Life, love, 'luck' and unwavering connection to community!

Writer and activist Glenda Gartrell spoke at Bathurst Library today with bookseller Sarah to a lovely crowd of friends old and new about her new book, Bush Childhood to City Activist.

An important highlight in Glenda’s memoir for Sarah was that fifty years ago, Glenda was one of the amazing trailblazing women who began supporting women’s rights, calling out gendered inequality and misogyny in our society, advocating for change and promoting education.

Thanks always to our friends at Bathurst Library for hosting this event! 🙏

Hear Glenda Gartrell speak about her recently published memoir, Bush Childhood to City Activist.

Glenda grew up on a remote NSW sheep station during the 1940s. The second of four daughters, she had to change schools eight times, and at just 10 years old, she was considered for sale.

Glenda went on to launch a successful start-up business while completing two university degrees. She spent more than 50 years advocating for social change, from the Women's Movement of the 1970s to hands-on roles in community leadership and public policy.

As a senior adviser to the NSW Premier, she witnessed the Opera House Bicentennial celebration in 1988 from the front row.

Glenda’s memoir is an insight into societal changes and evolution. There is a lot to be learnt from her story.

Copies of the book will be available for sale on the day.
