We are concluding the Jan-June league with the CUBE. The Cube is a fixed psuedo booster draft (with some fixed cards) from the first few sets. Each CUBE draft will reuse the same cards, but the pack assignment will be random. Pack composition will be 15 cards, with rares, uncommons, commons, plus attacks and defences. For the July-Dec league, the league will rotate monthly between Russian Roulette and the Cube.(no decks required in either case)

Showbiz Round-Up

Ijaaz Noohu, a former production assistant on the Criminal series, has filed a lawsuit against Amazon MGM Studios and Big Indie Pictures, alleging a hostile environment, with sexual and racial harassment, religious discrimination, assault, and battery, created by comic writer and showrunner Ed Brubaker, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The suit also alleges that Brubaker pointed a working fi***rm at Noohu and pulled the trigger. Noohu seeks unspecified damages in the lawsuit, which was filed in a California state court on September 2, 2026.

The Pokemon Company International announced a 2027 release for Pokémon: Wild Card, the first feature length Pokémon movie since the 2021 release of Pokémon the Movie: Secrets in the Jungle. The story follows an aspiring TCG player and Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokémon. The production is from STORY Inc. and Japanese animation studio CloverWorks. See teaser below.

The long-awaited collaboration between Aardman and Pokemon, originally announced back in 2024, will finally come to fruition next year when the Aardman-produced Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd & Pichu stop-motion animation series drops on Disney+. The series will be set in the United Kingdom-esque Galar region, appropriate for the collaboration with UK-based Aardman.

Netflix is working on a new live-action Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft series which takes place in the popular horror setting, according to Deadline. The new series will be written and executive produced by John August, with Oscar-winner Alfonso Cuaron and Hasbro Entertainment as additional exec producers. An earlier Netflix live-action Dungeons & Dragons series from showrunner Drew Crevello is no longer in development, according to the report.

The Spider-Noir series has been cancelled after one season, according to Variety. The Prime Video/MGM series starred Nicolas Cage as the lead character, which was based on Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man Noir.

Disney+ has frozen their live-action Gargoyles series, according to Variety. The series, which was in early stages of development, will not move forward.

Prime Video Japan will adapt Natsu Hyuuga's The Apothecary Diaries manga into a live-action series. The new series, co-produced by Toho and Amazon MGM Studios, will star Mana Ashida as poison enthusiast Maomao. Yuki Saito has been tapped to direct the series, and episode will be penned by Erika Yoshida. The series will drop in 2028.

Showbiz Round-Up (last week's new)

NBC Universal locked in the two showrunners of the upcoming Dungeon Crawler Carl series for Peacock, according to Variety. Eric Heisserer, who had also been working to get a Pacific Rim series off the ground for Prime Video, has joined the production as co-showrunner. The other, previously announced co-showrunner and writer is Chris Yost.

HBO Max has placed an order for DC Studio series The People v. Gorilla Grodd. This series had been previously teased under a few different working titles, as DC Crime and as the Jimmy Olsen series. The series will be a mockumentary crime series starring Skyler Gisando as Jimmy Olsen and Jimmy Tatro as Gorilla Grodd as well as Beck Bennett (Steve Lombard), Mikaela Hoover (Cat Grant) and Wendell Pierce (Perry White).

In other DC Studios news, the first episode of Lanterns recorded 9.3 million views in its first three days of availability on HBO and HBO Max, according to Variety. This is the biggest premiere for a DC Studios show; the show premiered on August 16, 2026.

Marvel Studios revealed the release date for the upcoming Ghost Rider movie, starring Ryan Gosling. It will hit theaters on July 28, 2028.

HBO Max renewed IT: Welcome to Derry, according to Variety. The first season of this prequel series to the IT movies began streaming on October 26, 2025.

Amazon MGM is developing a movie for Squishmallows, according to Variety. Squishmallows are huggable plush toys by Jazwares that were a hot toy item circa 2023 through 2024. The movie is being developed as a tentpole family film with Beau Flynn and Shelby Thomas producing the project.
