JULY is World Watercolor Month!!! which is a great time to encourage the use of watercolour and gouache painting.

Visit for more information and participation information can be found below.

Prompts are TOTALLY OPTIONAL, please just add the hashtags and throughout July ANY TIME you post ANY art that features watercolors (or gouache)! It helps spread the word about our charitable cause to support arts education via the International Child Art Foundation! And World Watercolormonth will add your art to their global gallery.

You also don’t have to join all month long to participate, but it’s super FUN to try the ultimate challenge of 31 watercolors in 31 days, so let’s DO this!! (paint more slowly? Then try working a little on the same painting each day!) Daily painting is awesome and really helps improve skills! I often paint small and just try a little something… don’t worry about making a masterpiece, even a quick practice painting counts, post it and smile proudly!

And though World Watercolor Month isn’t a prompt challenge, I find that prompts help keep me engaged and focused so I plan to use them during the month and figured I’d share them with all of you in case you’d like to do the same. And a huge thanks to World Watercolor Month Artist Ambassador Angela Fehr ( ) who created them this year! But don’t forgot to add the WorldWatercolorMonth hashtag even if you don’t use the prompts! ;-) Let’s paint the world with watercolor in July!!! JOIN US!

NOTE: These will be the ONLY prompts for July, so if we can’t convince you to splash around watercolor and/or gouache with us, then you can use these, and simply use the hashtag to post your drawings!
