Another little treasure from the BMHC collection!

This 1925 booklet is a fascinating glimpse into the past, featuring some interesting pictures of the latest and most desirable council machinery of its day.

A great snapshot of how municipal work and machinery looked nearly 100 years ago!

Over the past few months, whilst making the most of the wet ground, BMHC staff, Brooke & Clair have been painstakingly removing the sags that had taken over the garden in front of the gift shop.
It is still, very much ‘a work in progress’ and next winter the sags up the top may have a target on them too.

But for now, the planting of new natives has begun and soon a layer of mulch has made the garden feel loved.

We will watch the growth of these young plants with much anticipation.

There was plenty of hard labour, lots of fun & volunteer Nicole was a willing cheer squad along the way!

Can you see the difference?

It’s a dog’s life at gold panning here at BMHC. 🐾

And when you get a bit old and broken, you don’t mind letting a young pup take over guard duties. 😄

Old mate has been here so long that his original kennel needed replacing a few years back. ❤️

Can anyone help put a name to the faces in this lovely piece of local history?
