Family Birthday season continues with my nieces 18th today. I pulled out the Notes & Totes bundle & paired it with Beach Boardwalk dsp (which is about the only current product. I took awhile pfaffing over design etc. Sentiment is an old one (from Happiest of B’days) and the birdies are from the Lakeside retreat PP. found some pink glimmer paper in my stash for the number. She loved the card 😁

Made a couple more cards with the Celebratory Sips dsp but I still have heaps to use up. I made two because I wasn’t quite happy with the top one for my sisters B’day so made the bottom one with circles layout. Now the weather is warming it really is time for cocktails (altho champagne is probably better suited for her. I need a champers stamp set!!)

Pulled out an old favourite pack of dsp to make a card for one of my Bible study ladies and had to make a spare while I was at it. We’ve had a few pretty papers & cute sets over the years so I might need to do a “birdie fest” in the new year.
It’s nice combining them with more recent papers & embossing folder too. Do you go back to old papers, hoard them, or use them up at the time you first buy them? I have so many papers to revisit 😁

I made a card last week for our Bible Study group to send to one of the ladies who’s had a tough year with ill health & hadn’t been able to come for awhile. She often wears bright turquoise & blues so I decided to pull out a bright turquoise from my stash and used a scrap of card base from Beautiful Blues kit that was like a water coloured wash of Blueberry Bushell. The (retired) Butterfly Beauty large layering dies which I must confess I hadn’t used before, were just what I wanted. I often use the tiny dies tho) and cut a few of those from the scraps of card left. Sentiment was from Beautiful Blues Kit. We all signed it so she knew she’s missed and it really blessed her. This is when I really feel that what I do when I makes cards has value even tho many think it a waste of time & money.

Forgot to share Father’s Day makings - too busy out & about over the weekend. While I think they’re beautiful kits. I only subscribed for the first Paper Pumpkin kit launched in April because it looked masculine friendly. I didn’t quite make the kit as designed. I cut up the double sided card bases & even an envelope or two and picked some of the embellishments bits as desired and brought in a couple other bits

Last week I had special card to make for cousins celebrating 40yrs of marriage. As was said in the speeches - 40yrs is a long time and requires loving determination and sees lots of ups, downs, hardships and of course great blessing. The good thing about hoarding retired stamps is you never know when they will be needed again. I think I bought this monster set in a retiring sale as I don’t do Halloween cards but liked the monster images.
My son bought this hair brush as a joke gift for his sisters Birthday last week so I made a quick card for him to give with it. Too cute! (she loved the hair brush 😁)
