FULL MOON MAY 1ST 2026

The month of May 2026 will be graced by 2 full moons! The first peaks tomorrow at 6.23 PM GMT. It is known as the Flower Moon. It marks the transition to summer and is named by native Americans for the profusion of wildflowers blooming at this time across North America.
May 1st is also the festival of Bealtine – a Celtic celebration of the start of summer. Traditionally marked by the lighting of bonfires, storytelling and music – there is renewed observation of Bealtine at the Hill of Uisneach in the heart of Ireland.
Enjoy whatever festivities you partake in and remember to leave your crystals out for charging.

APRIL BIRTHSTONE: DIAMOND.

Diamonds are truly unique gemstones. They are the hardest (Mohs 10) naturally occurring element on the planet. Composed entirely of carbon, forged deep in the Earth’s mantle and crystallised into a tight lattice. While their origins are far removed from light, these clear gems emerge to capture and brilliantly enhance sunlight. What a transformation!
The name diamond is derived from the Greek adamas, meaning “indomitable” or “unbreakable” and diaphanus, meaning “transparent.” Diamonds maintain their rightful first place as the most sought after gemstones for use in jewellery.
The diamond is a preeminent symbol of purity, innocence, love and fidelity. It represents the love and openness that characterise our entry to this physical plane and supports the values of truth and trust.
Diamond is also a spiritual stone, symbolising perfection and illumination, and is said to have the ability to activate the crown and etheric chakras. Enhancing inner vision it stimulates creativity, imagination, and ingenuity in the individual. It is the stone of clarity, abundance, peace and guidance.
So, you see, the diamond is a master stone whose qualities continue to traverse the seen and unseen worlds.

MARCH BIRTHSTONE: AQUAMARINE.

The modern birthstone for March is aquamarine. Famous for its pure and even blue colour, and sparkling clarity, the aquamarine has been a valued gem in many cultures throughout history. It belongs to the gem species beryl and thus is closely related to the emerald. The word "aquamarine" derives from Latin and means water of the sea – a reflection on its colour and mystery.
Aquamarine is famed for its stunning clear blue colour, which may display some green tints. The striking blue shade characteristic of aquamarine comes from iron within the crystal lattice. In nature, it grows as long six-sided columns whose colour varies depending on the angle the column is viewed from. Lapidaries cut and facet the crystal to enhance the colour and brilliance of the finished gems.
Apart from its beauty and clarity Aquamarine is said to calm the nerves and soothe anxiety.
The Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, displays the famous Dom Pedro gem, credited as being the world's largest faceted aquamarine. It was mined in Pedra Azul, Brazil in the 1980s. It was fashioned by Master German Lapidary, Bernd Munsteiner, into an obelisk weighing 10,363 carats and christened “Dom Pedro” after the first two emperors of Brazil.
Aquamarine jewels feature in royal collections including the late Queen Elizabeth II Aquamarine Parure and Princess Diana’s spectacular cocktail ring gifted to Meghan Markle by Prince Harry at their wedding.
If you are lucky enough to have a March birthday why not celebrate with an aquamarine piece of your choice?

HAPPY ST PATRICK’S DAY!

The shamrock is one of Ireland’s national symbols. The heart shaped leaves represent faith, hope and love. – but the greatest of these is love.

Shamrock is strongly associated with St Patrick. It is said that he used its 3 leaved form to explain the Christian mystery of the Holy Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit in one – when he spread the faith throughout Ireland in the 5th Century AD.

It continues to amaze me, and bring joy to my heart, that our national saint’s day is celebrated world-wide. Keeping the connection to origin, family and celebration while sharing traditions across the globe.

It is no accident that the shamrock is the symbol for Fonya. Three other words spring to mind for the symbol: precious, safe and enduring.

Wherever you are, have a wonderful day and may love and peace be with you.

HAPPY ST VALENTINE'S DAY

Wherever you are, whoever you are with, enjoy your day! St Valentine is the patron saint of lovers but also of beekeepers and those with epilepsy. His feast day is today and has been celebrated by lovers worldwide for centuries. While modern custom is to exchange cards and gifts as signs of affection, this day reminds us of the power of love and provides a focused opportunity to renew presence and care in our close relationships.

Every day should be St Valentine's Day!

ENGAGEMENT RINGS

An engagement ring is the most meaningful, sentimental and expensive (usually) piece of jewellery a married woman owns. The tradition of engagement rings dates back to ancient Greek and Roman cultures, where rings were originally crafted from simple materials such as bone, ivory, or base metals. Archaeological discoveries in Pompeii, buried in 79 AD, have revealed gold rings, indicating that precious metals were already being used in Roman society at that time.
In 850 AD, Pope Nicholas I formally defined the engagement ring’s significance, declaring it a symbol of a man’s intention to marry. Diamonds first appeared in engagement rings in 1477, when Archduke Maximilian of Austria proposed to Mary of Burgundy with a ring featuring diamonds arranged in the shape of the letter “M.”
During the 15th century, Gimmel rings—made of three interlocking bands—were popular as engagement and wedding sets. During the engagement period, each partner wore one band. From the wedding day onward, the bride wore both engagement bands together, accompanied by a third band as her wedding ring.
Despite their early use, diamonds were not regularly seen in engagement rings until the 1940s. De Beers, a large British–South African mining company, coined their iconic 1947 slogan, “A diamond is forever”.
Diamonds remain the gemstone of choice for engagement rings due to their exceptional hardness and resistance to everyday wear. and tear However, the claws holding the stone can wear over time and should be inspected regularly to prevent stone loss.
While the impact of loss or theft of an engagement ring is unthinkable, it can be minimised with practical precautions. Rings should be insured as named items under your home insurance policy. We also highly recommend using Fonya Lockit (https://www.fonya.com.au) to safely secure your rings whenever you need to remove them. After all, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

BEING ORGANISED SUPPORTS INNER CALM

What happens when we choose to get organised? Would you believe that the impact can be pretty powerful, especially when it comes to our mental health.
For starters, having an organised space can seriously lower stress and anxiety. When everything has a home, your brain doesn’t have to keep track of a million loose ends. You’re not constantly wondering where things are or stressing about losing something important. That mental “clean-up” creates a feeling of calm and control, which goes a long way toward feeling more balanced overall.
Being organised also makes it easier to focus on important issues and get things done. Without clutter competing for your attention, your mind can zero in on what really matters.
There’s something really rewarding about an orderly space. It gives a sense of accomplishment and a boost to self-confidence. Every time you keep things in order, you’re reinforcing positive habits and reminding yourself that you’re capable of managing your life. There’s less to worry about.
Another benefit that doesn’t get talked about enough? Better sleep. A clean, calm home and bedroom sets the tone for rest, helping you fall asleep more easily and wake up feeling refreshed. And since good sleep plays such a huge role in overall well-being, that’s a win all on its own. And, did you know that better sleep equals better health, memory and mood?
Getting organised isn’t just about neat spaces, it’s about creating environments that feels calmer, clearer, and more supportive.

What would you choose for an inner calm?
