Hello from Zac & Kellie

Regal Honey and Regal Wraps are a combined business that we run as a family from Lake Macquarie, NSW. The idea behind our business is to be as locally minded and chemical free, as possible. Regal Honey is produced in hives that we have placed in the yards of local people. The honey is extracted by Zac and then packa

ged in our home, ready for our raw and totally natural product, to be purchased by you. Cotton is used as the material for our handmade Regal Wraps. Any other ingredients that are added for cohesion in Regal Wraps are flora saps, and totally natural. There are no additives or chemicals in our products. We are very proud of our products and hope that you will support us in our quest to share our raw honey and to save the planet one wrap at a time.

-WHAT DO I DO?-
Fold your colourful patterned REGAL WRAPS around food items as you would with other plastic wraps. Cover food, or wrap items such as cheese, veggies, sandwiches, cookies, and many other foods. Just use the warmth of your hands to mould the REGAL WRAPS to the item you wish to cover. You can also use your REGAL WRAPS to make a handy pouch. Just fold a wrap in half, and then fold the edges over to form a seal using the warmth of your hands. Beeswax itself never goes bad, but overtime and with constant use, the protective wax coating on your REGAL WRAPS will eventually wear away. You can give your wrap life again (feel free to call me for instructions), or why not do a little experiment with your REGAL WRAP? When your wrap has reached the end of its life dig a hole in your backyard and bury it – unlike plastic it is a bio-degradable product and will break down quickly without a trace. On average it takes plastic 450 years to degrade.

-WHY SHOULD YOU USE REGAL WRAPS?-
REGAL WRAPS can last a full year depending on care and use. More heavily used wraps might not last so long. Beeswax wrap is a far more sustainable option to standard plastic wrap. Do your bit to prevent more plastic being produced for landfill
It is a far healthier way to wrap your food in REGAL WRAPS rather than having toxic plastic wrapped around your food. You will save $$ if you use REGAL WRAPS instead of purchasing plastic cling wrap or plastic seal bags. Also think of the reduction of plastic in landfill.

-HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR REGAL WRAPS-
After using your REGAL WRAPS, hand wash with cool water and very mild dish soap. Alcohol free is best. DO NOT use hot water, or your wax coating may melt. Dry your REGAL WRAPS somewhere flat, or draped over a dish rack, then smooth flat with your hands and store. Do not put your REGAL WRAPS near heat sources such as the oven, microwave, or dishwasher. Do not leave in the full sun on a hot day or leave anywhere hot enough to melt the surface Beeswax. Beeswax melts at around 62Β°C, but it does begin to get soft before this temperature, so be wary. Your REGAL WRAPS are not for use on raw meat, do not use with anything to liquidy in a pouch form, do not use on foods that are still hot. You may also see some staining if REGAL WRAPS comes in contact with brightly coloured foods such as beetroot, curries etc. To remove any dried on food from your REGAL WRAPS leave the wrap to soak for a few minutes in cold water until the food is soft enough to wash away. If using your REGAL WRAPS to make a pouch, do not tear the pouch open. Unfold it as it was folded to reduce un-necessary wear & tear on your wraps. If in doubt, chuck it out. If you think your REGAL WRAP has been compromised, it is best to start again with a new one.

Every jar of Regal Honey is hand labelled with love & sometimes a little chaos 🍯✨

Fun fact: you can tell who's been on labelling duty just by looking at your jar. Zac's jars? Straight as an arrow, perfectly aligned every time. Kellie's jars? Let's just say they have a little more... character. The occasional wonky label, the rare upside-down moment... but it's all part of the charm! πŸ˜‚

Either way, what's inside is always 100% Raw Pure Australian Honey & that's what really counts 🐝

Meet Zac & Kellie - the faces behind Regal Honey 🍯🐝

Regal Honey began 12 years ago in our backyard in Regal Way, Valentine. We started with just a couple of hives & a fascination with bees, learning as we went & slowly building our confidence as beekeepers.

Not long after, Kellie began making beeswax wraps at the kitchen table. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into something more, creating sustainable products using what our own hives produced & sharing them with our community.

Over time, those backyard hives expanded into apiaries across the Central Coast & Hunter. Markets became our weekends, early hive checks became routine & Regal Honey grew into our full family business.

Then the Varroa mite changed everything.

Like so many NSW beekeepers, we lost all of our hives. Years of hard work & growth were wiped out almost overnight. It was heartbreaking.

But we chose to start again.

We rebuilt from scratch in Mudgee with the help of our mentor & best mate, Adam. New bees, new apiaries & the same determination that started it all 12 years ago.

Today, we’re incredibly proud to say we once again have local hives buzzing close to home. Bringing our bees back to our community feels like coming full circle.

Every jar of honey & every beeswax product now represents resilience, long days, long drives & a deep love for what we do.

When you support Regal Honey, you’re supporting a small family business that rebuilt from the ground up & we are so grateful for every single person who chooses local.

Wow! These ladies have been busy πŸ‘‘πŸ

This frame is covered in queen cells, which means the hive is preparing for change.

Bees raise new queens when they’re getting ready to swarm or if their current queen needs replacing. Nature always has a plan.

Each one of these cells could become the next Queen Bee… which one will take the throne?

Moments like this are what sit behind every jar of honey we harvest 🍯 Pure instinct, organisation & thousands of hardworking bees.
