One of the recent additions to our wool fabrics is this Japanese brushed wool check. Soft and lightweight, it will be great for jackets, coats, or even a blanket. 🙂

The first issue of Laine Magazine was published in 2016, and this year marks Laine’s 10th anniversary! The special bookazine created by , Laine Anniversary Issue, features 23 knitwear patterns from international designers — designers who have contributed to Laine's journey over the last ten years. The bookazine is a celebration of Laine’s beloved Nordic aesthetics as well as contemporary knitwear design. The designs shown here are from Dee Hardwicke, Sylvia Watts-Cherry and Maxim Cyr, with many more to discover. I might have found one already that may end up on my needles 😀

The Sheep show is almost upon us and whilst we won't have a site at the show, the shop will be open all weekend - Saturday 9.30am - 5pm and Sunday 9.30am - 4pm. As a special offer all our yarn and wool fabric are discounted by 20% until next Wednesday, both in store and online.

Lots of interesting projects being worked on today - amongst all the knitting there is embroidery, paper felting, band weaving and crochet. It is always inspiring to see what people are doing, and always something to learn 🥰

It’s a small group today at Make It Sew. This is a session held fortnightly on a Friday afternoon, run by Linnet Good, where you can get assistance with fitting garments, pattern modification, laying out patterns and cutting fabric, as well as assistance with knitting and crochet.

Did you know that we host a Social Saturday on the last Saturday of the month? Which means that it will be on next Saturday 🙂 It is always interesting to see what people are doing - knitting, crochet, embroidery, sashiko, weaving, hand sewing can be happening at the same time 😀.

Next Saturday we will be doing something a bit different, offering a knitting help clinic. Perhaps you need help picking up stitches, or maybe interpreting a pattern, you are welcome to come along between 12-1pm. As this is the first one it will be gold coin donation only.

Maybe we will see some of you next week. Normal time is 1-4pm.
