Some nice sized kings at Montague island again today, with some rippers this morning. Arvo jigging sessions have been providing a few better models also.

The close reefs around Bermagui have produced the goods over the past couple of weeks. Kev and Greg landed 12 Snapper this morning keeping 8 great fish, one at 48cm and 7 between 53cm and 60cm. They were all caught on soft plastics, micro jigs or squid strips. The Snapper season seems to have started.

Cracking week of fishing thus far! Striped Marlin still being tagged on the 12 Mile Reef today. Good numbers of Yellowfin Tuna on the 1000fm line and the Kings have been about too. Plenty of Bonito being taken from the stones and by those trolling metals and hard bodies around the local headlands. It’s worthwhile chasing Mulloway on the local beaches with lure casting being preferred by many whilst others are having success on fresh baits

Big effort in the tinny for Dom Chandler and crew today managing this Blue Marlin off a double today at Bermagui. They believe the other fish was as good or better too! It’s been a good week to get the bite off a blue with couple of other boats amongst it also.

Good morning at the Island today. 15 Snapper with the best 8 between 45cm and 56cm being kept. Squid and freshly caught Bonito strips worked well in the shallows with MJ Micro jigs working in 35+ metres.

There was plenty of juvenile Kingfish chasing baitfish but we could not find any legal sized fish. That said, as we were packing up for the return journey we observed a couple of large schools of sauries getting smashed by big fish. They were most probably large Kings or possibly Yellowfin Tuna.

Kevin & Greg had a great morning Snapper fishing in 30 metres south of Bermi keeping 8 perfect table sized fish between 48cm and 55cm. They also found a school of just under legal size Kingfish. Great fun on lighter Snapper gear.

Kev, Garry & Greg had a fun morning at the Island today. Found two legal Kingfish at around 70cm under large schools of rat Kings and Bonito. Jigs and squid both worked well. Only 3 of the better Snapper were kept out of the dozen or so caught. It was also great to catch a large tasty Goatfish.
