On Friday, two of our lucky Berri Visitor Information Centre team members had the pleasure of experiencing a relaxing cruise with Rivergum Cruises in Waikerie.
From the moment we stepped aboard, we were warmly welcomed by our wonderful hosts, James, who built and captains the boat, and Sandra, whose friendly hospitality ensured we were well looked after throughout the journey.
Waikerie truly is blessed with breathtaking scenery. We cruised past the magnificent towering limestone cliffs while spotting an abundance of birdlife, including pelicans, darters, a whistling kite and even a spoonbill.
To top it all off, we enjoyed a delicious charcuterie board showcasing local produce, including Sandra’s own homemade quince paste. Tea, coffee and soft drinks were included, with alcoholic beverages also available to purchase.
With comfortable seating both upstairs, on the front deck, inside the air-conditioned cabin and at the rear of the vessel, there was no shortage of spectacular views from every angle.
