I have finally got around to knitting the angora rabbit fibre (that came from NZ). I have spun it and dyed it with food dye. Firstly, you wet the fibre thoroughly in water with a sq**rt of detergent. The detergent helps to stop the fibre repelling the water. Vinegar is added next which aids the colour in binding to the fibre. I lay out the wet skein of spun fibre and apply the colour by filling syringes with different colours and randomly sq**rting them onto the fibre. Then you microwave it for about 8 minutes to set the colour. I am happy with this jacket that I have made for my grandson who is due at the end of the year.

Some years ago we visited an Angora rabbit farm in New Zealand. Don't worry; the rabbits did not die. They were shorn. I have spun the angora very finely and then dyed the yarn using food dyes, vinegar and the microwave.
