This niho is almost ready to go to its new home.

Shaped with meaning, and now just a few finishing touches to go.

There’s always something special about seeing a piece leave my hands and begin the next part of its story.

You don’t often get to carve something with this much history…

There’s something pretty special about working with a material that comes from the distant past, then turning it into something that can be worn and carried forward for years to come.

These six Toki all came out completely different. The natural colours and markings did most of the talking, I just had the privilege of bringing the shapes out of them.

A little piece of the past, given a new story. Pretty damn cool, really.
