My first collaborative pottery exhibition opened on Friday. It was an amazing night, with the event being filled with lots of local art lovers, family and friends.

What linked our work was the amazing mentorship, guidance and advice of Malcom Boyd. While his influence is noticeable there is a great variety of shapes, techniques and designs.

The exhibition is open at Segue in Stratford until the 29 April, if you get the chance go get a coffee and see some great locally made ceramics.

Special thanks to .ceramics who organised the exhibition and who in my opinion has the most breathtaking pieces in the exhibition.

Very excited to be involved in the ‘Through Fire & Flame’ art exhibition. The exhibition will be a collection of work shaped through the mentorship of Malcom Boyd, one of Gippsland’s most renowned potters.

Opening on the 31st March, the exhibit will be open to the public from the 1st to 29 April.

I have been fortunate enough to learn kiln construction and firing techniques from Malcom and this will be reflected in the work I will have on display.

I have loved learning from Malcom, who is generous with his time, patient, and quick with a cuppa and a story.

I’ve been very lucky recently to learn woodfiring techniques from Malcom Boyd. A well known potter in the Gippsland community, his woodfired pots are sought after all over Australia. Malcom has always been generous with his time and knowledge teaching me firing techniques, kiln building, and glaze application. These bowls are from the most recent firing .ceramics and I did at Malcom’s. Shino with some dark chrome carbon capture occurring.
