This may seem weird but the focus of my business/store is not about chasing after money. Money comes and goes (way more going out than coming in 😊) but I have always had a long term vision. Will it all work out? Quite likely no, but I will continue to persevere!!
One very strange trait that I have is that I get sad when certain pieces leave the store. I purchase a lot of glass that I struggle to replace as many are one offs. Pictured is one such piece - the Spiny Squid Dab Rig. I really didn’t want it to go!!! It has gone to a good home though with one of my most favourite customers so I will recover. 💚

Iridescent bubbles galore in the BigFun! Bubble B**g. It’s quite mesmerising in daylight and sadly the photo does not do it justice. In store I have displayed it right by the window and the shine reminds me of a pearl.

A few years ago I decided that Flower by Edie Parker was a brand that I wanted upon my shelves. It was a mission but I finally was able to start with a small selection of products and We are Lux became the first Australian stockist. I have since steadily built up the range and would happily stock it all!
How would I describe the brand? In store I call them as the “Gucci” of smoking paraphernalia which is quite funny as I was saying this long before I found out that the founder (Brett Heyman) used to work at Gucci!!! If blue is your vibe, I’ve got you covered!!! I want the store to be as colourful, vibrant and eclectic as it can possibly be. I’m never satisfied (very frustrating!!!) and strive endlessly to elevate the discourse in this country surrounding the magnificent plant that is cannabis. I do this via the selection of products that I stand behind whilst challenging stereotypes and mind sets. I have learnt to be less combative whilst standing my ground. I am exhausted!!!!!

North Bondi was my stomping ground and I spent the majority of my childhood climbing cliffs/rocks. The exact same rocks in this photo featuring an extraordinary and anatomically correct heart-shaped b**g! One of the more eccentric pieces on offer at We are Lux, a head shop like no other! It’s blue and it is clear, made entirely from thick borosilicate glass depicting a large (deeply etched) Koi Fish jumping out of waves. The fixed downstream culminates into an intricate multi prong tree percolator, designed to provide a smoother and cooler experience💚💚💚 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

Fun fact 💚 Jane West was one of the very first luxury brands that I placed upon my shelves, back in the day when my shelves were quite bare. I was definitely “faking it till I made it” trying to elevate the discourse in Australia whilst challenging stereotypes. 😊
I was (still am!) obsessed with her original Cobalt Beaker and used to polish the display model daily!

Quick lesson on down stems…..
An integral component of a b**g/rig/water paper that acts as a pathway between your bowl/banger and the water chamber. Most offer a degree of diffusion helping with filtration. Down stems are either fixed into position or they can be removed. Some insert on a slant whilst others stand vertically in the “banger hanger” style.

There are options for you to choose ranging from an open ended tube design, a diffusion down stem or one that culminates into an intricate percolator.
It is also important to know the length required and it should be long enough for the diffusion slits (end) to sit 2.5 - 5cms beneath the water line whilst hovering a short distance from the base.
I’m not a fan of boring and unimaginative design and was immediately drawn to the Pulsar Candy Striped 4.5” Borosilicate Glass Down Stems. 4.5” is measured from the base of the frosted port to the end of the stem, so each stem is technically 6” in total length.
They look so pretty on the shelves in store! Available now at We are Lux or online. **g
