As our world becomes more prompted, much mass produced, more AI generated there’s a deepening need for hand made pieces. The Arts and Crafts movement from the 1890’s through to the 1910’s was a reaction to the machine made perfection of tye 19th Century and we are facing a similar abandonment of mass produced land fill. We are all searching for a life more soulful, more beautiful and more hand made.

That’s why we are seeing a resurgence of natural looking pieces. Earthenware and artworks carry the fingerprint of the maker. This gorgeous still life from Jacqui Brown Artist can transform you home the second it is hung. These beautiful mossy green toned jugs and vases are so centring and this little Royal Doulton Figurine brings just enough whimsy to keep you happy.

We’re thrilled welcome the ever delightful Highlands Tea Company to the Dirty Janes family. You’ll see their iconic red awning as you’re parking and the smells of freshly made scones will lure you in as you get closer.

The menu is as cosy as an old friend, heart warming as a kiss on the forehead and as surprising as a new kitten. Everything is fresh, tasty and unforgettable. The decor is sweet, like a spring field in bloom and the service is fast and friendly.

With dependable toasted sandwiches and home made scones at the centre of menu and stunning high teas, you’ll be returning again and again. Their specialty teas are the icing in the figurative cake. Over thirty to choose from and served with real panache. Oh, and try the sparkling tea-it’s a win for non alcoholic drinks. The same pop of the cork, the same cheers to your friends, a complex palate and really fun to share.

If you like coffee you’re in luck. Open from 7:30 am, they are willing and able to give you the pep you need to kick off into the day.

The cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea.

Lisa and her team are thoroughly experienced in hospitality with decades of service under their belt. It’s no surprise, then, that the Highlands Tea Company comes highly recommended by locals.

This particular local, highly recommends the High Tea. I shared mine with the staff and you can see their reaction in the video.

Sometimes you find all the complexity of a rain forest in the breathtaking colouring of a chair. This is such a chair.

You can feel the oxygen and well being emit from this pair of luxe parlour chairs. Placed on either side of the fireplace or singularly as a casual motif through out your home, these stunners are a sure fire hit.

And what about this solid Aged Teak Table? It’s clear hand made marks serve as an anchor to your room. Calm, beautiful and incredibly useful.
