Well it’s that time of year again where we say goodbye to one year and welcome another, this being my 10th season full time as JC’s guided Sportfishing First of all a few thank you’s Ray and the team at Peto Marine for there excellent service in keeping the vessels running smoothly with a busy schedule, Mercury marine Australia for there support with the super reliable workhorse Sea pro models Griffo and Shorty from fishtec solutions providing clients with top of the line edge rods mixed with castaic plastics,OSP and imakatsu hardbody lures, Clint and Tahlia at the Australian Flyfishing Lodge and most importantly a huge thank you to all our clients and everyone who graced the decks this year, we wish you all a safe night and best wishes for the new year 📸 of Kasey with the biggest Barra of the season at 123cm

Well that’s a wrap for the saltwater Barra season 2022
With a wet start to winter the fishing took a while to fire up once the estuaries and rivers settled, there was some resemblance to fishing of years gone by ! This is the first instalment of pics of guests captures, the systems had good numbers of fish in the 60 to 75cm range with multiple occasions resulting in 15 to 30+ legal Barra for the day With most systems resembling a Bunnings carpark during the good tides it was good to know that with so many fish in the systems there was plenty of locations holding good fish Stand by for the next set of pics next week Bookings for 2023 are filling fast with July to October fully booked there is still dates available from February to June for multi day lodge trips,

After months of blood, sweat and tears it is good to have the old galeforce back on the water, it was straight back into action for the old girl and happy to see clients ticking off a good mixture of species over the last couple of weeks from Queenfish, GT’s, mackeral, tuna and some good fingermark in the 80cm plus range, although slightly trickier navigating the shallow creeks the Barra and jacks where willing to join the party, A huge thanks to Ray and the team at Peto Marine and Mercury marine Australia for a massive effort getting the boat back on the water, as always the best rods on the market have no dramas dealing with all the species in our tropical waters the Edge delta 723 and 744 spin rods being perfect for our inshore use With the late wet season rains we have the perfect set up for sone hot fishing over the next 6 months, there are still a few options available before Barra season ends for multi day barra lodge trips and when the weather allows we will have options for chasing the plethora of inshore Bluewater species Peto Marine - HOME HILL

Well it's been a while since posting on this
page but with covid playing havoc the last few years a change was in the wind
I am happy to announce that the old Galeforce will be back in action again this year, this will allow us to target offshore species again, from jigging for hard fighting trevally species and big fingermark, casting at line burning long tail and Mack tuna, trolling for tasty Spanish mackerel and light tackle bill fishing.

I will be looking at kicking these trips off by the end of March or early April

These trips will be aimed at those looking to get a feed of fish from there day on the water as all our barramundi trips are lures only and strictly catch n release

A recent charter to Faust provided the goods for Colin and Paul, after multiple changes in plan for the trip I think the right decision was made in the end as Colin nailed a pair of beauty’s at 116cm before dark and Paul a chunky 106cm, once the lights went out and the moon came up the bite was ravenous with Paul nailing another 2 over the meter 104 and 106cm and half a dozen in the 70 to 90cm range, couldn’t believe how much these fish wanted to kill the OSP rudra once the sun went down with this lure accounting for all of the fish at night

A solid afternoon for Bel and Jaso earlier this year whilst stopping over on there journey further north, Bel taking the honours with a sweet 104 and low 90’s Barra and Jaso with a mid 80’s, happy birthday for today Bel, hope Jaso spoils you !!! .
