If old is your thing you can't get much older in a Grandfather clock. Joseph Gray from Durham worked making clocks and watches in the 1770s. The aged colour in the oak case is stunning. Standing just over 6ft tall this clock would be perfect in a house with lower ceilings that the 8 and 9 ft longcase clock sometimes don't suit. $2400.

1920's German Grandfather clock. Lovely Westminster chimes. Beautiful factory German case with bevelled glass. Made by Muller it was a top quality clock. You don't see too many in this original condition. $1850.

Sold..If you want a clock to say I'm old then this is the one. Circa 1853 American made . Large size at 72cm tall with 30cm dial. Strikes the hours on a bell. Beautiful inlay woodwork. $650.... Sold.

You don't see a lot of these Banjo style clocks here in Australia. Quite a common style in America. This little beauty was made by the Gilbert clock company in Winsted Connecticut USA in the 30's. $220.

If you like original antique patina you can't go past this example. This circa 1930. English made time only wall clock is not your average. Made under commission for West End Watch company which won a contract to supply to the Indian railways. This clock runs a platform escapement which does not need a pendulum therefore being able to work on moving equipment such as trains and ships. West End Watch Company is still in business today in the high end Swiss watch market. Another interesting feature is the one piece turned timber. $420.
