From the Anti-Racist Accomplice Collection ✊🏾

On the front: ANTI-RACISM IS NOT ANTI-WHITE
On the back: Anti-racism decentres the dominant culture, which historically caused the marginalisation of other cultures & communities. This may create discomfort or a sense of loss for those who have benefited from their position of privilege. It's about recognising that racism goes beyond individual acts & challenge & disrupt the power dynamics that perpetuate racial inequalities. It requires commitment, self-reflection, education, & action to create a just & inclusive world for all.

On the front: ANTI-RACIST IN TRAINING
On the back: Actively engaging in the process of learning, unlearning, and taking action to challenge racism. I recognise that this is an ongoing journey, where I strive to deepen my understanding, challenge my own biases, and actively contribute to creating a more just and equitable society.

Mahangin means windy.

As the wind whipped through their hair, Phi stood on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the vast ocean. They were born and raised on the small island of Palawan, and the sea had always been a part of their life. They could hear the waves crashing against the rocks below, and they closed their eyes, taking in the salty air. They thought about their family, and how their ancestors had lived on this island for generations. As the wind continued to blow, Phi felt a sense of peace and connection to the land and sea around them. They knew that no matter where life took them, they would always be tied to this place and the people they loved.

FILO FLASHCARDS - Let's count!/Magbilang tayo!

The perfect tool for learning and teaching the basic numbers in the Tagalog and English languages. I created these for the purposes of teaching my 1 year old daughter Alba Tagalog, while also giving myself the opportunity to relearn the language.

"I suppose we can start to embrace the idea that being “Filipino” is not just pre-colonial but also modern. We have a tendency to homogenize and romanticize our ancestors as though they were one group of spiritually ascended masters. But they were human like us: gullible and violent, yet also loving and wise. They were varied, just as we are varied. I wonder sometimes whether our desire to return to the past is the way we escape facing the issues plaguing the Filipino of today. Today we struggle with disinformation, historical revision, a culture of violence, and the suppression of truth. We must conduct more inclusive research: our academics, journalists, and researchers are keepers of truth. They are our light in an increasingly darkening age.

It starts with you: embrace diversity. Apply Kapwa. Makihalubilo (mingle). Makisama (participate). Makibaka (share the struggle). Hold on to truth and its nuances—remember, it must liberate. 🌞" - Carl Lorenz Cervantes, M.A.
