It is crazy to think that this photo was taken 6 years ago today!🤰🏽9 days before my little gentleman joined us in this world!

I sometimes look back through my pregnancy photos and think how naïve I was. How I thought it was all going to be sunshine and rainbows because that is what is portrayed on social media, but the reality of it is that it is bloody hard work!

Everything about your baby is overwhelming in those first few weeks and most mums shed more tears than they would like to admit. I remember coming home from hospital after 5 days of having midwives guide me through each day and thinking 'ok so what now - I have a real-life cabbage patch doll and I don't know what to do'. One thing I find myself telling my friends having their first bub is "it’s going to be okay; the days and nights may blend together and feel like an eternity but you will get through it!”

I know its hard mama! 🥹

I know it can be hard to get up every day and have these little people reply on you. I know its hard to feel like sometimes your world is so small. I want to remind you, you are the world. You are the world that those little ones revolve around. You are their nurture, their home, and their comfort. You are everything to them, and I hope even on your hard days you know how special you are. Especially to your little people!

Are you an overthinker?

I don’t know if the crappy weather in Brisbane has gotten to me or what but the last few days I’ve been overthinking posting this picture.

I haven’t been happy with the photos I’ve taken cause they really didn’t show how beautiful this piece actually is..

But you know what - it deserves a spot on my feed to remind me that it doesn’t have to be perfect to be amazing!

MEET THE MAKER

I know I have briefly introduced myself before on stories but I thought it was about time we got to know each other better!

- I’m Angela, mum of 2 a boy (5 ½) and a girl (3 ½)
- I have been married to my husband for 7 ½ years and he is the brains behind my website
- We have a golden retriever Wilbur who is 6 ½. He runs the house – my husband is obsessed with him and he drives my kids crazy wanting to play all the time or bullying them for whatever food they have.
- Up until Covid hit I had worked in the airline industry for 12 ½ years (half of that as an international flight attendant)
- I am the youngest of 6 and an aunty to 18
- I have been an aunty since I was 7 years old
- I live in the same suburb that I grew up in
- On the weekends I play community soccer and play with some of the same girls I played with 15 years ago
- I work out of my garage when my son is at school and my daughter is playing
- I absolutely hate the smell of coffee and have NEVER tried it!

OMG but seriously… What excuse does your child use for not going to bed? 🙄

My daughter told me the other night that she had a unicorn in her room and when she got closer to it it turned its head and was staring at her.. She still managed to grab 15 stuffed toys before running out of her room screaming.. 🧐

Getting organised for a new baby is so exciting but also so overwhelming and confusing at the same time.

I remember packing my 32kg hospital suitcase for my first like I was going on some European adventure. 🥴 I had a curling wand, straightener, make-up and high heels. Like where the f*** did I think I was going?! 🤦🏽‍♀️ My husband cursed at me the whole way from the carpark to the front entrance and kept asking me 'what do you have in this bag, we live 5 minutes from the hospital I can always go home and get whatever you need'. I kept thinking 'what would he know?' clearly a lot actually! He ended up taking 90% of the suitcase home in the first 24 hours.

So we have made packing for bub and quick essentials for mum a whole lot easier with our Hospital bag organisers and checklist. Tag a first time mum to be and let her know!
