Hey friends! Just about 10 days to go till we kick off the quilting together summit. πŸ₯° I will be talking about making the Cat's Cradle quilt block (which is also sometimes referred to as the shaded four patch). I first used this in my Mosaic Ornaments Quilt pattern and have since also used it in Fractured Blooms (first appeared in Make Modern Magazine issue 68).

This is such a fun fun block! Both the methods I show are scrap friendly, and you can use regular quilting rulers to get your results - I dug through my scrap pile to make quite a few of these!

ALSO - as part of summit registration, you get to be a part of a growing community on Facebook, where there's heaps of fun connecting with each other and learning from eCh other.

Fun BONUS - as a freebie with my workshop, you can get the Fractured Blooms quilt pattern for free. This is an updated version with more sizes and only available free for summit goers. ✨

Extra BONUS - you can also get the Mosaic Ornaments Quilt pattern for free with the All Access Pass! πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

I hope to see you there!!

If you haven't registered yet, there is a link in my bio or send me a DM or comment below and I will send the link to your inbox. The summit is completely free to you. Link in my profile is an affiliate link.

Do people still share Flashback Friday posts? Or is my elder millennial showing? πŸ™ƒ Thought I would share some super un-aesthetic photos from late 2020/early 2021 of my first sample of the Stars and Diamonds quilt, which was a scrappy version of the quilt. Feat my messy bed and *bold* 😬 bed linen, and poor lighting. I have come a long way as a quilter and pattern designer since those early days (but I have to admit, sometimes the photos I take during the planning process or making sample quilts still look like this!); it's been super fun updating and tweaking this pattern. I am so keen for the relaunch coming up in a few days. And even more excited for the post quilt pattern launch sew-a-long πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

p.s. The scrappy version I originally made was made with these gorgeous block printed Jaipur cottons, and I have already picked out some gorgeous block prints for my upcoming version. Quilters in Australia, I might even have a kit or two of block printed fabrics to giveaway with the pattern launch. Make sure to keep an eye out for my posts over the next few days with more details. ❀️✨

Well, hello. It's been another minute since I posted something! (And this is my third attempt at trying to post *this* post πŸ™ƒ). Possibly one of my biggest struggles as a creative business owner is consistent social media! But that is all reflection I will save for another post.

One regret is probably that I ended up taking a short social media hiatus BEFORE posting the last set of tester photos for the Kaleidoscope Reflections quilt pattern! What a shame, because each tester quilts for this pattern was phenomenal, and these three are no less. These were made by Emma hyggehausquiltco , Kendall Kendall Micayla , and Rebecca R E B E C C A 🩡

Each with a completely unique fabric pull that changes how the quilt appears completely! Emma's with the pinks, and florals, and gold, is such a fun vibe, Kendall's batiks make me think of beaches and my feet in the salty water along the edges of the shore, and Rebecca's greens are blues and greys remind me of grassy fields and spring picnics. I love how the movement in the pattern and the fabric choices of these individual makers work together to create these gorgeous masterpieces - handmade treasures for sure ❀️

Thank you to each of these amazing quilters for lending their talent to bring this pattern to life πŸ₯°

This is the Kaleidoscope Reflections quilt pattern, it is available on my website and in my Etsy shop.

More photos of fabric pull and these quilts can be found on each of these makers Instagram pages as well. Make sure to give them a follow!

Rainbow Kaleidoscope Reflections!! Time for another round of some beautiful tester makes. Honestly, these rainbow versions by Donna, Donna’s Crafting Room Maddy, Maddy and Caitlin Caitlin P are so beautiful and so distinct, different from each other AND different from the cover quilt, which is also a rainbow pull in solids - even though all three chose rainbow-ish fabric pulls. Zoom in close to see some of the most adorable prints that have been chosen.

This quilt pattern lends itself to so many fabric options, even in rainbow colours. You could go bright and bold like Donna's quilt or the cover quilt, or more pastel shades of rainbow like Caitlin's or bright and whimsical like Maddy's πŸŒˆβ€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

There's so much more that could be said about these quilts, but I'll let you look at them and see for yourself how stunning they are.

Also, if you struggle picking fabrics for your quilts, this pattern and so many other quilt patterns are all available on QUILTINK | Modern quilt pattern digital coloring pages - try out every combination of fabric choices before committing to one design. Plus there are so many quilts for inspiration.
