I've been quite charmed by this small collection of publisher promotional material from the 1920s. Each pamphlet promoting a single author. Publishers include Macmillan, Doubleday, George H.Doran and Frederick A. Stokes. Some of these authors, like Booth Tarkington and Edna Ferber, were Pulitzer prize winners. Hugh Walpole, while subject of appreciation, was yet to write his Herries Chronicles for which he is remembered today. A snapshot of the authors that were making names for themselves in the US just after WWI, and the way they were being promoted.
Various prices: $15-$35.
