I have just finished this treadle restoration and now l can't decide which machine should go in it. The 201 is a work horse with reverse, the 66 sews great, and has beautiful decals. 😄

This aluminum treadle 201 did NOT come in this treadle table. I did that because l prefer the fancy draws and a machine with reverse. The box cabinet was a great space saver, just not so ornate.

My sad Singer parts machine, that didn't get used for parts only needs a nice bobbin cover plate now. 😄

Sometimes it's the small wins, to somehow remove a broken, recessed and rusted tiny screw, and put a new part in. Then before servicing, see if l can get a decent stitch. Without the replacement bracket, the bobbin cover plate won't stay in place. It worked. 😅.

After dismantling, wire brushing, washing with degreaser, there is still quite a process on the treadle restoration alon...

After dismantling, wire brushing, washing with degreaser, there is still quite a process on the treadle restoration alone. It's worth the effort when it's reassembled and adjusted correctly, nice smooth treading. It looks nice too. 😀

This 201 was going to be spare parts only... It was a mess, rusty and not moving after days of trying. Then slowly some movement. So now I'm restoring it. First clean for all the fiddly bits. 😅
