Welcome to a brand-new day JAMSCREWERS. We are sharing the first “mockup” of the Mk3 1/32 scale kit. The fuselage is a dimensional "stand-in" file, created from our CH-124 full scan project. The final full detail files are being processed now, a very labour-intensive exercise. The finished files contain all surface detail including raised rivets, panels, and other details, stunning.
There also remains an immense amount of internal, clear part and fuselage modification design work. The CH-124 scan serving as a base, it will be modified to reflect all the Westland fuselage details, giving us the core fuselage file to build up the Mk3, 41,43,48, 50 and HC4 kits, of course the CH-124 kit will be easier.
The first full size 1/32 scale mock-up will be produced in May. We’ve reached a very exciting milestone, after 2 years of effort, completing the fuselage scan project and painstakingly drafting nearly 150 individual external and internal elements.
The 1/32 scale kits will be monsters, not for the faint of heart. Measuring 695mm with deployed main rotor blades or 526mm with Blades folded. These groundbreaking kits sport every element at “aftermarket” detail quality, and a level of accuracy rarely achieved in any kit before, due to the immense research and support of many key people and access to 7 airframes of 5 variants.
The JAMSCREW mission is as strong as ever, “Telling the Sea King story…properly”. Thank you to the whole JAMSCREW fellowship and their dedication to bringing this groundbreaking project to life.
Keep building, keep looking after each other. 💪🍻
