Excited to introduce Lillie from Ayrshire, Scotland, as the newest addition to our Ambassador programme at Geneva. Lillie's musical journey began at the age of 11, starting on cornet before transitioning to the Tenor Horn. Currently with Dunaskin Doon Band, Lillie is actively involved in the youth banding scene, playing with Riverside Youth Band and the Scottish Champion youth band.

A member of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland since 2020, Lillie has progressed through various bands and had notable experiences, including performing at the European Championships. She values her time at NYBBS and now serves as an ambassador, giving back to the organization that has supported her growth.

Beyond band performances, Lillie excels as a soloist, achieving success in competitions at local and national levels. While pursuing a diploma in Tenor Horn performance during secondary education, she draws inspiration from renowned musicians Scott Kerr and Brett Baker.

In her free time, Lillie co-hosts the podcast Brass Bands: On The Record! with Mark Good. Looking ahead, she aspires to study Psychology at university, alongside music modules to enhance her skills. Post-graduation, Lillie aims to join a top UK band, keeping music a central part of her life. Playing on a Geneva Tenor Horn, Lillie appreciates the instrument's rich tone, contributing to her exceptional musicality.

This post highlights the successful global expansion of the "Try Before You Buy" (TBYB) program by Geneva Instruments. The initiative has reached unexpected locations and garnered positive outcomes.

Acknowledging Howard Taylor, our distributor in Australia, a notable TBYB visit occurred with the Tongan Army Band during a trip to support various bands in Tonga. This visit included providing the Tonga Army band with their first Geneva Cardinal instrument of many to be added for their upcoming performance at the Edinburgh Tattoo in 2025.

The TBYB schemes have now been implemented in the EU, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and the US.

The company remains open to collaborations with international musicians who play Geneva instruments, aiming to expand the musical community and offer opportunities for commissions to support their careers.

Yesterday evening, Geneva was on the road again with the foundation’s chairman Frank Renton and our young Ambassador Daniel Lavacchielli.

We joined up with the wonderful people at the driffield_band in Nafferton East Yorkshire for great rehearsal.

Frank brought Daniel over from Italy to perform with the hepworth_band this coming Sunday in Yeadon Town Hall.
