The Fabric and Felt Studio

The Fabric and Felt Studio The Fabric and Felt Studio is more than just a place to learn crafts. It’s a sanctuary where creativity, connection, and community come together.

Join us and discover the joy of creating in a peaceful setting near Brisbane CBD. Welcome to The Fabric and Felt Studio: Where Craft Meets Connection. My business is based on the philosophy that creativity can create happiness! Nestled on a 2.5-acre bush block, just a brief 25-minute drive from Brisbane CBD, my studio stands as a serene escape. This unique location, nestled on what's known as a b

attle-axe block, provides a sense of seclusion. A 100m easement guides visitors down a path that feels like a departure from the city's bustle, welcoming them into a crafting haven. The studio holds a distinctive quality; it's not merely a place to learn crafts. It's a sanctuary where like-minded individuals, primarily women, converge to unleash their creativity, express themselves, and, unexpectedly, find solace. Here, there's no judgment—only an open space to foster creativity and camaraderie, a testament to the power of community and the healing nature of creative expression. My craft hub possesses an extraordinary ability to envelop you in warmth, making you feel like you've found a temporary respite from the chaos of daily life. So, welcome to The Fabric and Felt Studio, where threads weave connections, creativity blooms, and every stitch tells a story. Here, amidst nature's embrace, I invite you to explore, create, and find a piece of serenity in my little corner of the world. A little about Me: I am a passionate fibre artist residing in Brisbane, Australia. Working primarily with wool, felt, embroidery techniques, and various other fibre materials. I channel my love for these materials into teaching felting workshops and embroidery classes. My passion for textile art isn't just about creating beautiful pieces—it's about building a community, offering a sanctuary for creative souls, and contributing to mental well-being through artistic expression. To discover this for yourself I welcome you to join one of my workshops or follow me on social media. Thank you for supporting my small business.

Alison an established textile artist spreading her wings again to embrace something new. Taking her inspiration from the Japanese gold ceramic repair, known as "kintsugi". The art of mending broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with gold powder. Love it!

It was beautiful winter's day here in Brisbane. Perfect for wet felting and what fun we had in the Studio learning how to use foam as a "resist" to make these beautiful felted hearts. This was a new workshop for me this year and I just loved the results! From a plain piece of foam to beautiful pieces of artwork. Can't thank everyone enough for spending their morning with me. 🥰

This beautiful Nuno felted scarf by Jo reminds me of a peaceful English garden. Soft shades of lavender, delicate textures, and a tiny bee nestled amongst the fibres makes it such a charming wearable piece of art. 💜🐝
