Today we fitted an EMD M5534HD bracket to John’s Quintrex 510 Sea Spirit, matched with his Minn Kota auto stow/deploy trolling motor.

This motor is not the Quest brushless series, so the M5534HD was a great fit for this setup.

John was stoked with the result and even shared a few of his secret fishing marks with us, along with some great tips on using grinner for snapper.

No Welding Needed! QUINTREX 430 Trolling Motor Bracket Install

Big thanks to Neil for sharing the video and photos of his install.

Neil is a highly skilled carpenter and fitted our M5534BF bracket to his QUINTREX 430 Fishabout. He’s absolutely stoked with the setup and has already recommended the bracket to a few of his mates.

Thanks again, Neil, hope you keep landing plenty of big fish!

One small note, mate: the trolling motor is sitting a little far outboard. Mounting it slightly closer to the centreline of the boat would be even better.

Overall though, it’s a fantastic install and a great example of how clean and solid the M5534BF setup can be on a small aluminium boat.

Clean Surtees 5.5 Workmate Trolling Motor Install

Frank’s Surtees 5.5m Workmate fitted with our EMD M5534HD bracket and a Lowrance Recon Saltwater 72” trolling motor.

Custom clamp strip, HD rivet support, no rail cutting, and no gunnel rubber cutting required.
