Barker College students sat down with us to get into the actual challenges CandleXchange is working through right now.

Today, they pitched their solutions back to us.

Today is R U OK Day, and we spent it exactly where we wanted to be, in the room with people.

At International Towers we checked in with 130 people. At 275 Kent Street with Mirvac, another 100. That's 230 conversations that started with four simple words.

As a social enterprise built on supporting people through some of the hardest moments in their lives, this isn't a once-a-year idea for us. It's the whole point of the work.

100 Year 4 students, one very good lesson in circularity

Today we're at Redlands with 100 Year 4 students, showing them what happens to a candle after it's finished, and why that matters.

As part of their STEM curriculum, the students are learning to upcycle candle containers, and every candle that comes out of today's session is being donated to ReLove, to help furnish a home for someone starting over.

It's the same idea CandleXchange is built on. Nothing gets wasted, and everything gets a second use that means something.

Best part of the job, teaching this to kids who'll grow up already knowing it.
