Big M**f is as a Big M**f does.
In for a repair with some switching issues.
I’ve always loved how these screen prints get weathered and worn away by being played and stomped on. If I remember correctly, this is a revision C era BMP. So early 2000s.
Sounds like it should and ready for more punishment.

Here’s an interesting obscure one. The printer, sewing machine and label company Brother, also put out a combo organ/synth!
It’s basically a rebadged Baldwin. Anyway, sounds super dreamy, some cool simple functions that give it a bit of a minimal string synth vibe.
This one had a dislodged transformer that had broken of a chunk of the circuit board and has to be point to point soldered.

A bit of an undocumented vintage opamp distortion/fuzz….. 🤔 I checked the usual social media platforms and didn’t find a great deal, so I thought I’d quickly do a raw simple demo. If you’re an avid fan of early opamp 2 k**b dirt boxes, this ones great.

Vox distortion pedal from the early 80s. Was apparently made by guyatone using the zoombox circuit. A sleeper amongst the distortion plus/ 250 opamp circuits...

Here’s some repairs I’ve neglected to post for some time.

Did a repair on this vintage Korg rhythm machine that has left me keeping an eye for one myself.
There’s a bit of goth post punk ghost lurking in every beat for sure.
The tempo and swing variations seem to garner a lot more inspiring and useful beats than I was expecting.
Anyway, re worked the white noise generator and recapped the power supply.
Really nice piece of useful vintage gear.
