It’s Plastic Free July® - so let’s make BEESWAX WRAPS!

🐝 Super easy to make and use.

🐝 Use fabric you have, men’s shirts or old linen make great choices as the fabric is durable. Cotton or linens seem to work best.
🐝 with a purposed iron (not the one you use on special occasions 😉) and two sheets of baking paper on a purposed old towel (not the special ones for guests only)

🐝 sprinkle beeswax onto fabric you’ve cut to size (I use cereal boxes cardboard for stencils) and pinking shears to stop fraying but normal scissors work too.

🐝 iron between two pieces of baking paper until wax is melted and covers the entire piece of fabric

🐝 Allow to dry (takes only a few minutes) then you can use and fall in love with your wraps!!

Join us at Koolambidi Woola Youth Precinct on Saturday 27 June from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Bring along a few pieces in good condition, swap them for something fresh, repair your go to items, and even try out Australia’s only pedal powered sewing machine 🚲

It is a simple way to save money, reduce waste and walk away with something you will actually wear.
