I’ve been in touch with a Sheffield tool maker that produces gouges. I’m looking for Excalibur, well my Excalibur anyway, a two handed heavy bladed number three sweep gouge for doing the initial carving on tops and backs of violin.s They’ve promised to get back to me so we’ll see.

The MSO - not the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, but the Maruki Community Orchestra. A bunch of folk keen to have a bash at the classics for the love of playing together!
